This parking lot stencil comes rolled up, wrapped in heavily-taped plastic. You're on your own to store it after having to tear up the plastic wrap. I rolled mine around an empty paper towel tube for better support, and will wrap some double-sided velcro ties around it to keep it rolled. It is made of traditional black rubber (like car tires), not silicone, so expect a moderate rubber smell. It is about 1/8 inch thick, and feels much more durable than the competing cardboard versions. There were a few loose strands of excess rubber that had to be pulled off the edges, but otherwise it seems to be well-made. Black rubber items are sometimes messy to handle, but this item did not leave black stuff on my hands at all.Since the opening in this template is 76 inches long (there is an 8-inch border on each end), it is nowhere near long enough to paint a typical-length parking line in one pass; it takes 3 uses per line. (This short length is a trade-off to keep the size/weight down, and seems to be common among competing products too.) So it is best limited to small parking lots with very few spaces, or just doing touch-ups on a small number of lines. The opening is 4 inches wide, so I recommend using it with a 4-inch-wide mini paint roller, on an extension pole so you don't have to bend over the whole time.
