I really like this little xylophone we got for our little girl. It has wood tones instead of metal, so the sound is soft and natural rather than piercing. The pitch is right on. A good first play instrument.

Absolutely appalling, made with the wrong type of wood such that it has zero resonance. It only looks like an instrument, I would call it a fake xylophone. The sound is just a plink, plank, plonk instead of the ringing ding, dang, dong you should get. Simply not musical.

I have a family member that is very into indigenous music and instruments. He normally plays wood flutes/pipes but has an interest in percussion as well. This particular instrument is more of a percussion instrument than a true xylophone. It produces some very pleasing soft wood tones that fit the general feel of his music, so he likes this a lot.When you receive this item, its very very dry and does not produce very pleasant tones. The secret is to oil the wood well prior to use. Once its saturated with oil, it sounds great. The general build quality is actually really nice, once fully oiled it actually has a lot of depth and natural color.

My kids love this! My five-year-old especially loves it! Making little songs with it and singing along is his favorite. The price point is awesome, and the sound is pretty good too! Comes with the stick as well, so it's a nice little combo. Great to get kids into music!
