Product Description

2005 mercury monterey blend door actuator

HVAC Blend Door Actuator Replacement for 604-218

  • The blend door actuator is responsible for controlling the flow and temperature of air into the interior of a vehicle. When you turn the knob to increase or decrease the temperature or air flow, the signals go through the blend door actuator. It also controls the defrosters and other vents.
  • If the heater blend door actuator fails or malfunctions, it can lead to issues such as the inability to adjust the temperature properly or noise during operation. In such cases, it may be necessary to replace the actuator to restore proper functionality to the HVAC system.

Worked perfectly. Easy Fix!

Easily installed, (well kinda - one fastener in the back of connector is not easily tightened, but that's the truck, not the part), and it seems to work right away. Perhaps not as durable long term as the 2010 Toyota OEM part was constructed of distinct power resistors. We will see. I hardly ever move the fan speed from low or medium, so the resistor network is in the circuit all the time. BTW, what is "sheerness?" LOL

Appears to be about the same quality of the previous part I purchased in September of 2024. Which failed after about five months of use. I am hoping this part will last much longer.

My 2006 Tacoma had one hiccup when it would only blow on full and then recovered. The next time, not so lucky. This is a relatively easy fix. My wiring harness was not burned and this unit plugged right in. At initial startup it only had two speeds: full and one step down. There was another reviewer that said it takes time to get all four speeds back. My initial thought was that two speeds were better than one. I also wrote to the company via Amazon. There was no response, but then I got three speeds in a couple days and finally got all four. AC is critical this time of year in Arizona. The green unit on the right in the photo is the original, somewhat rusty part proudly made in Slovenia with a part number carved into it that does not show up on any web searches... 4/12/2024 It stopped for a couple of months. It was back to nothing or full blast. It was a rock and a hard place so I ordered a replacement. Eleven days after the return window closed... it is working again. Now I have a backup. I understand the initial learning period, but years later there is another?7/15/2024 OK. Now it really failed. I installed the replacement I purchased in March which worked for thirty five minutes and then it failed. There is no clear way to communicate with the seller for warranty or replacement. Needless to say, this is disappointing.

The replacement resistor component fit just the like the Toyota original factory item. Screw/bolt holes lined up perfectly. Came with new plug and wiring in case the original plug overheated on the old resistor. The AC/Heater fan back to working as normal.
