I'm not a fan of the omni line guide. Also, I lost a kite because of the this reel when my line wrapped around the handle/knob for reeling and cut the line.

This is a super cool kite reel. It’s beefy, seems to be made quite well, has a nice finish and it holds A LOT of line. It’s kinda like a really nice fly fishing reel. I like this reel even more than I thought I would.I ordered this reel to fly my Premier Kites 11-foot delta kite. And for really big kites like this, it’s the perfect reel. I flew the kite a couple of days ago in about a 10-mph wind, and this reel made flying it a lot of fun. I let out well over 1000 feet of line, and this reel made bringing it back down to earth a piece of cake.Now, I could have loaded this reel up with Dacron line, which is the most commonly used kite line, but I didn’t do that. I instead decided to use braided Kevlar line because it has much less stretch, and a *much* higher line strength to line diameter ratio. For example, 200 pound Dacron line has a diameter of 2.0 millimeters, while 250 pound braided Kevlar line has a diameter of 1.1 millimeters. And, consequently, I was able to get 2000 feet of 250-pound line on the reel. Attached to this review is a picture of this kite reel loaded up with 2000 feet of 250-pound braided Kevlar line.This, of course, isn’t the cheapest kite reel out there, but it is a really nice reel and it’s actually a pretty decent value when you compare it to many similarly designed/constructed kite reels. So, even though this is a somewhat pricey kite reel, I do think it's a solid choice that, like me, you will be very happy with.If you have any questions about this kite reel, please feel free to ask, and I'll try my best to answer.
