This was purchased as a replacement for a kick plate that was over 20 years old and was pretty beat up from use and weather exposure. Magnet is strong and applies in seconds. Makes my door look new.

I have purchased a few door kick plates in the past couple of weeks.These are far and away the best.Packaging - Well packed and taped to an oversized particle board backer to keep the plate from getting bent. No way this will have those "arrived with bent corners" issues. Individually wrapped in craft paper too.Screws - included - taped to the back of each plate inside the "ears" of the wrapping at one end with a big sticker on the other side that says "Screws On Back" - correct number, size and type for the holes. They will work in sheet metal or wood and match the color of the plate.Finish - beautiful - not as dark as some Oil Rubbed Bronze but not "Gloss Brown" either. Nice satin finish.Thickness - 16 Ga. which seems a bit thicker than some of the other "16 Ga." I bought.I can't comment on the durability yet. No scratches so far but ask me after the winter with boots, firewood etc.I only wish they offered more dimensions. I needed a 4" x 34" which I had to custom order.That said, doorkickplates.com let me specify 4.5" x 35" - we will see how those work out.I would order these again if the size fits my needs.

Love this kickplate, as it matches the new satin nickel door hardware perfectly. The metal is high quality. I love that it's magnetic and so easy to install. I had one in a different finish on the door for 20 years and it held up great, still looks wonderful, and it was easy to remove since it was magnetic, and replaced it with this one. Highly recommend!

Pricey, especially when needing two. Nice finish. Substantial. Screws were too short. Had to buy longer screws to work with my front door.

I ordered this product because I had a similar one in a gold color on my steel front door. I changed my door color from red to a light gray and added all black knobs, door knocker, deadbolt, hinges. I wanted a magnetic kick plate because my previous one was magnetic and I did not want to put screw holes in my door. I had looked for magnetic kind in Home Depot because that was where I bought my previous kickplate and would have still used the same one and planed on spray painting it black but my husband threw it away because it got bent by mistake while being stored in the garage. I looked everywhere and on several sites and was lucky enough to find magnetic one. I ordered it in matte black. It arrived today, was packaged very well, and looks beautiful on my front door. You will not be disappointed if this is the type you are looking for.

Of all the things I have ever bought on-line, this brass kick plate was the most professionally packaged item I have ever seen. A piece of masonite was included to prevent any kind of bend, dent or corner damage, the plate was covered in a thick vinyl, and the cardboard wrapping was substantial, as well. It arrived in perfect shape. The plate is a heavy gauge of stainless steel with a beautiful brass finish. It attaches to the door magnetically - extremely easy to install. Compared to the flimsy aluminum plates you find in local big box stores, this is a high quality product that should last for years. Couldn't be happier with this purchase!
