I had a 1/2 HP WasteKing disposal that was still under warranty at a little less than two years old and still working, but I never was very impressed with it and I didn't like the splash guard that came with it either. I would always have to hold my hand over it when using the disposal to block chunks of who knows what from flying out and landing in a nearby cup of coffee or whatever. It was also starting to look somewhat rusty in the grind chamber and since my warranty was about up, I figured I'd be lucky if it made it one week past the warranty period. When given the opportunity to try this one out, I jumped and installed it upon arrival. It's so much better design, quieter, and the better quality parts were obvious while installing. Very detailed and easy to follow installation instructions too.

This is solid and not to difficult to install. Looks good under the sink.

This is a solid little garbage disposal unit. 1/2 hp doesn't sound powerful, but this is running strong so far.. it's easy to install. It's reliable. Flow is good.
