Great wooden abacus. There are no sharp edges or unfinished corners. The beads slid back and forth without an issue. I got it to help teach my 4yo math, as it gives him visual cues. There is a ruler on the top that shows measurements in metric. For us in the US, would probably be more helpful if it was in inches or just not present. Metric is fine, but it was confusing for my son as the cm align perfectly with each bead, he though the numbers were just counting the beads up.On the side it just has the alphabet drawn in small bubbles, honestly not needed or helpful as it just distracts from the main point. It would have been better if it just had the beads units instead so the kids can understand which ones are singles, tenth's, hundreds and so forth. It brings small card cutouts numbered from 1 to 100, math symbols, and several very thin counting sticks. No instructions, which for us adults is not needed, but it would have been nice to have something to actually help guide the kids through learning to use this Abacus. In the end, I still gave it 5 stars as it is sturdy and I can use it easily for my main purpose of teaching him math.

A nice set containing some sticks, sticky notes and a colorful abacus.Pictures contain my 3 year old boy's hands -- so that you can get a feeling about its size. There are so many reasons that I like it, just to name a few:1.the beads are very colorful so it easily attract kids' attention.2. It is so useful and easy for the kids (esp beginners) to understand how it works. Now he can count to 10!3. the materials is good-- solid wood and no paint smell.4. It is made in high quality and really sturdy. The kids can choose to put the sticky numbers, letters on the side to decorate it too. After doing so many reviews on the amazon with so many products, here is what I feel:everything starts with the design! if the design is good, combined with good materials, it will become a nice product well received by the customers.

This is wonderful addition to a play area. The colors are great and its made of non toxic wood material. It is a little heavy so careful if you have toddlers that at a stage of tossing things around. Fun for learning to count and colors.

The Colorful Abacus is an absolute hit with all the kids! From the 2-year-old to the teen, they're all loving it. This versatile learning toy is a gem for exploring the fun side of mathematics. The inclusion of 1-100 number cards and counting sticks adds an extra layer of engagement. It's not just about counting; it's a multi-purpose educational tool that enhances math skills and is perfect for homeschooling activities.

The abacus is solidly built, so it's not going to fall apart on you, but mine is wobbly. The area around one of the bottom screws is rough and could put a splinter in little fingers, and you can clearly see where both of the bottom screws have been glued in and the glue was not wiped away completely. Additionally, one of the little counting sticks is very splintery.I like the colorful little cards with the numbers, math symbols and an adorable little cartoon figure. They slide easily into the slot at the top all the way across, so they are easy to use to set up math problems. You might want to throw a little plastic bag into the box to hold the numbers and other cards once they've been punched out. I think it will just be easier to keep them together that way and make them less likely to get lost.I'm not sure what the point is in putting a metric ruler on the top bar because it's completely impractical for measuring anything. It also seems to be an example of poor planning because the ruler is exactly 18 centimeters with the number 18 running up against the right side of the abacus and crowding the number 17 on its left.Ultimately, it will function as intended with no problem, but if you use this in a classroom for several years and yours wobbles like mine does, I can almost guarantee that someday you're going to have a student with special needs who simply cannot cope or cannot concentrate because it wobbles. I have little felt and rubber feet leftover from various projects, so I'm going to put one of them on mine and hope none of the kids ever notice it and tear it off or find it as distracting as the wobble would be.I have not contacted the seller regarding my concerns, so I can't say what the customer service response would be.
