Crisp . Sharp. Easy to Use. Well Made. VeryGood Hand Grips. ETC… I’m not a sheet metal worker. My review of this tool is from the perspective of a long-time DIY’er.I’ve done maintenance work most of my adult life in various work-a-day settings i.e. building maintenance for state office buildings, boiler operator in hospital and public schools settings and, like I said above, as a DYIer. So my review of this tool may not touch in the important aspects of a sheet metal tool as understood from a professional worker in that trade. That being said… I do know how to get to a desired goal or how to get necessary result for a particular job that needs to get done. We live in an age or time when someone might want to , at least try to, get a job at home done w/o reset rating to the Pros. (No worries professional craftsmen, I know my limitations and safety concerns… so these words of review need to be taken w a honest grain of salt!) Now I have a project that needs a rounded, sheet metal barrier to sit on top of a tube that goes around a fruit tree trunk all the way up to the lowest branches. I want to keep the varmints out of the tree. The tube is very smooth, so I doubt they will be able to climb up the smooth maternity get into the tree. But if the get this far, they will have to get past a barrier I can make that should be a good barrier to keep those “dirty rats” out!( think, James Cagney, “you dirty rats! You ate alit of my nectarines last year!, now I’m gonna get you!”) if I have to I’ll add a little voltage if all else fails! They are NOT gonna get my nectarines and cherries this year! Anyway, this tool is just what the “varmint getter” ordered. For me, at least. It works very well doing the job I need it to do. If anyone reading this needs a more professional review, look to one of the others. But for you amateurs, maybe it’s just what you need. I recommend it completely.

Perhaps for the price, these are acceptable, but the quality is seriously lacking. The jaws were mis-aligned to the point that the two halves would hit each other, causing the handles to have to deform so the jaws could bypass each other. Perhaps that's why these were so loosely assembled when they arrived – all the joints were sloppy. Complete mess, but they can get the job done.I ended up taking the tool apart, bending the sheet metal handles as best I could into proper form, then re-assembled, tightening the bolts appropriately. The result was a tighter feeling pair of notchers, with jaws that just barely manage to bypass each other without hitting. The worst part about these notchers, now, is that the stop limiting the travel of the closing jaws is pressed into the sheet metal handles – this does not work and makes for a mushy end-of-travel. It also can cause the hand to get pinched between the handles as they close too far.I can't say I'd recommend these for professionals, but for limited use, they'd probably suffice.

I had ordered this Sheetmetal tool because I love to do projects at home, and I am always trying out new things. I had some minor sheet metal (duct work) that I needed to make some adjustments to in my attic. This tool was able to allow me to notch in, create some specific bends and form a connection with the main piece of duct. It worked pretty well for what it is. I had some questions around the durability when I had received the tool, but my usage had proved me wrong. The handle itself isn't super comfortable, because it's a harder plastic, so I used some of my work gloves to make the usage a little easier, but that was my only complaint. I hope that this helps.

I had to run a 6 inch duct into a downstairs living area after we remodeled it. I cut the hole in the main duct and searched the bins at the local big box Home D store for a starting collar flange but found nothing.I used these to make my own. These cut through the thin duct easily. I was able to cut evenly spaced notches all along the end and ... then fit it into the hole and bend the notched ends over securing it into place. Without these... things would've gotten ugly. These worked great! MUCH BETTER than trying to cut notches with snips. If you do any king of work with sheet metal, these are a tool you should have.

I have done a lot (hundreds of cuts) and it's just starting to show!I use it for metal siding, so... for the price this is very good!I expect to get at least 50 to 100 more cuts before I'll need another.Again I am using it on 26,28,29ga metal roofing and siding. The 26ga is VERY hard on it! But hey it works!
