I should have gotten suspicious when i noticed the condition of the bag. Looked like it sat in someone's garage for a few years before it was shipped to me. Not that the condition of the bag would affect the functionality, but the valve itself had some good dents in it too. I installed it anyway. After driving with the new part installed it does not work like it should. It is supposed to limit the transmission temp to 158F (70C) but it does not do that. I am fairly certain the valve is either broken or somebody modified a 194F (90C) valve with a different insert. Not happy at all with my purchase.

I researched and researched all the transmission fixes for GM transmission overheating. This thermal bypass valve is the updated ACDelco valve to improve regulating transmission temperatures'. I used on my 2019 GMC Yukon LX. I wanted the fix without switching the internal parts. I wanted to use genuine GM part.

Went right in, no problem. Works great. On a hot day, transmission stays around 160, on a cool day, transmission stays around 144. Well worth the money.

First it turned out not to be correct for my 2021 chevy trai boss custom with 6l80e. The trans cooler lines are bigger on my truck. Then the nipples that go in transmission were all dinged up so was another negative. I was able to pull guts out and swap them into my original and then towed a trailer with side by side and temps stayed around 145 for the highway portion of the trip.

The new GM transmission bypass dropped the temp on the transmission by 25 degrees. Constant 160 to 170 under load. Can't get better than that. 20 min install, OEM equipment, perfect fit.

Used the internals for my 2015(takes 2minutes to swap), you can use the whole piece for 2016 and up. Works great
