I have that one bedroom where all heat collects. I purchased this fam to blow air out of that room at ceiling height into the main room that has a ceiling fan that moves that hot air down to where the house thermostat is. Before installing this fan, the room was unusable without a huge fan at the doorway - and even then, it was barely usable. With this fan installed and running on medium speed, the room is warm, but not unberable. The air conditioning turns on more often, but doesn't run as long. Overall, it keeps air moving around the house and inhibits that pocket of unbearably hot air.Installation was as easy as could be expected. The instructions suggest doing the outside of the fan first, but I had to do the inside first. The only issue I had was trying to perfectly align the holes on each side of the wall. The inside hole is nice and snug. The outside hole is a little larger than it needs to be because I had trouble getting the two aligned. When it is all put together, you can't see the holes at all, so it doesn't really matter. We are using the plug going into an outlet below the fan. It says it can be hard-wired, but that isn't very reasonable. The junction box inside the fan is far too small and it needs a grommet for the incoming wire. You could hard-wire it, but you shouldn't if you want to keep your electricity up to code.Noise is the big issue. We were using an 18 inch floor fan to pull air out of the doorway. It was very loud and didn't keep the room cool. This little fan is quiet enough on medium speed (5 out of 10) that it doesn't bother anyone. On 10, you can hear the rushing air and it an annoyance if you are trying to listen to TV or a video nearby. With it on 5, we haven't had any problems. It has been installed and running for a week. Hopefully the unit lasts a long time.

Impressive packaging, included a very robust cut and drill template for mounting the unit. I would have expected a folded up piece of paper for the drill guide but nope, it included a very sturdy plastic template. Instructions where easy to follow. Programing the unit was intuitive and easy. Best of all it really does move some air. I installed it in a wall between the basement and middle level of our tri level house to move hot air from our fire place into the middle level where it can get cold. As soon as the temperature warms to 72 degF the unit turns on and pulls air from one room to the next and turns off if the temp falls below 68. It just works beautifully!

Really quiet. Nice to have the programmability. Not exactly intuitive, but lots of functionality. Use these to move heat from the woodstove throughout the house. Constant, dusty work, and they wear our every few years. Unfortunately the wall hole size was smaller, so not a direct replacement for similar fans, but very quiet, simple to install, and seems plenty durable.

I extended this with 8" ducting to push air through the depth of a closet, not just a single wall. It seems to work well.My biggest deciding factor for this unit was noise level (low except on higher speeds) and that the fan blades & motor work effectively in either direction. Being able to move warm air out in warm seasons and warm air in during cool seasons with a single unit is a huge plus.

This is a great product. Good documentation, everything needed to install the fan is provided in the box, and it is incredibly quiet at low speeds. My only gripe is that people looking for a simple on/off fan might be annoyed by the number of button presses required to cycle between the "on" setting and "off" (it has to cycle through every mode/setting that the device has). But on the upside, the fan is reversible and it will remember the setting every time you turn it back on from that point on.Tips for installing in drywall:1) After you've traced the circle using the provided template, you can easily cut the circle out using a cordless drill with a small drill bit attached. Just drill a hole into the circle border and trace around the circle. Screw in something on a string to the circle center to be able to retrieve the plug if it falls into the wall as you complete the circle, if you care about that sort of thing. Use a sanding drum on the drill to enlarge the hole as necessary.2) For the second side of the fan (the non-display side), cut the hole smaller than the template suggests, as there's a good chance that where you drew the hole doesn't 100% align with the first side. Once you see where the first side aligns, you can use the sanding drum to enlarge the hole in the appropriate directions. That way, you'll be guaranteed that the two halves mate up perfectly. In the end, don't worry too much about having the hole exactly the size that it needs to be, as the face plate will cover the edges, much in the same way that an outlet face plate covers the whole cut for the electrical box.

Fan is very quiet and effective. Really like the features of this fan. Especially the ability to set an automatic turn on temperature and have it ramp up in speed as the temperatures increase, or decrease. We are able to easily watch tv as the fan is running. We use it to move heat from a room with a wood stove, to an adjoining room. Works like a charm. Only wish it had a remote control feature.

Works great for pushing warm or cool air from one room to another. We installed it in the wall between our living room and my husband's mancave, which was always a little hotter or cooler than the rest of the house. Works great.

This was exactly what we needed. It is exhausting hot air from a room that gets direct sun light and pushing it into the hallway. Now the room stays the same temp as the rest of the house. Pretty silent at level 3 or below. 4 and 5 are medium noise and 6 and above are pretty loud.

In my north region it took 1 month to receive this product (from USA). I installed using its template via between 2 x stud walls with drywall on each wall surface. Slow process to install but if one takes their quality time, its an easy install. For me, I used a Plug-In method - which had near floor level electrical outlet beside it. For my simple technical skills, its front panel controls are "way too complex". I would like a simple OFF/On, Forward/Reverse and up/down fan speed controls. All the other fancy temp settings, timer settings, etc. is "too much". On a good note its spinning fan is super quiet - which is the main reason I bought it. And yes, it does move lots of hot air from our living room (with gas fireplace) into our master bedroom. I'd buy again but wish its 10 speed motor controls were less complex.

Très bon rendement pour propulser l’air chaud du sous-sol chauffé par un poele à bois vers le rez de chaussée.Très efficace !
