My transmission was acting odd. Shifting at higher rpms or not going to into gear at all. I was also getting a surging at around 50 - 60 mph in overdrive. This is a messy job, so first I pumped out the fluid that was in the pan trough the dipstick tube, then I removed the pan. Left a big plastic sled under the truck to catch the remaining dripping transmission fluid. I replaced this part along with the A and B shift solenoids, 3-2 solenoid while I had the pan off. Don't know if it was just this part that fixed it, but It works better than it ever did before.

If you only have a hard shift from first to second you need to buy this part, this is pretty easy to replace. Suction as much fluid out as you can, drop the pan (you may have to bend the shift cable bracket), remove the three ten millimeter bolts holding this part in and put it all back together. The bolts holding this part in are tightened to 110 INCH pounds and the pan bolts are tightened to 100 INCH pounds. My transmission shifts very smooth.

I was worried when I first got the accumulator because I was hesitant to install it (being that it involves dropping the trans pan, new fluid, etc) because something was rattling inside it.I contacted the seller and they were able to actually ask the technicians and they said that “ If the springs weren’t loose inside, that would indicate a problem “I am able to relax and install.Thanks World Parts Direct

Replacement for 4l60e transmission with harsh 1-2 shift. The old accummulator appeared to be perfectly fine until disassembled. Piston was cracked with worn o-ring. I also had a P0717 code which has not returned...YeT! SHIFTS PERFECTLYUpDate: New Accummulator was installed in my 2009 Chevy Express van 4.3l V6 and both issues were resolved by this part. 500 plus miles with the new accumulator.

4l60e 1-2 accumulator is a good oem style replacement unit. If I remember correctly this had the white inner and outer spring. It dies have the plastic piston and oem style steel center pin.
