Bought two for the overhaul of a 4L80e. It holds the over-run clutch housing in the case. I don't torque this bolt to spec because it breaks easily. There is a similarly designed bolt that is used to hold the center support in place, which is a much stronger bolt. This bolt is made from a different material than the center support bolt, and is much weaker. This bolt is not exposed to much mechanical stress, and essentially acts as a port for fluid to pass through it. I guess that's why GM doesn't make it stronger. That being said, a cracked or broken bolt would cause big problems, so I torque it to about 80% spec.
