I had replaced some aging ignition components with NGK stuff a couple years ago and the truck had some odd idling problems ever since. Went through recently and replaced all that with AC Delco parts. Now my truck runs much better.

I fit great and fixed the misfire that is prevalent with this style of GM distributor. At least every time it starts to miss I at least can thank a GM engineer for taking something that lasts 80,000 miles and making it last 20,000 instead.

Altough this design of distributor cab was a bad design from GM, The best caps to buy is ac delco. Ac delco quality. They do the best at this design.

No issues with this, replaced a knock off cap on my '97 K1500 5.7 that had a ton of corrosion. For the price I'd definitely just get another AC Delco.Keep in mind there is no seal or o-ring on these, even from the factory. I also read to not try an seal them off with silicone or anything, it's meant to breath.

Replaced the cap and rotor as preventative maintenance. Old ones were very worn with some deposits but had not yet developed a misfire. Parts fit, wires snapped in confidently. Comes with two new Torx Screws; the rotor also does so you have extras if you drop one into the depths of the engine compartment. Not the easiest to install on a Suburban with 29" tires though. The torx bolts are what makes it a PITA. A Phillips head would have been fine, and allowed much easier installation. The screws are easy to drop as are the tools you are using due to it being tucked so far back against the firewall, and set so low. You cant really see what you are doing in there. However, this has nothing to do with the part's quality - just a heads up. Other Gm vehicles have been much easier, with screw heads that either a Phillips OR a standard can fit with locking springs; all you do is press down and turn 90 degrees. I certainly didnt expect two different sizes of Torx heads in there.

This was a perfect for my 1997 Chevy 1500 with 5.0L engine. Put this in 6 years ago as part of a tune up and it is still going strong. Great price for AC Delco.

Paired with an ACdelco Rotor and it made a difference as soon as I started the truck up. Worth the money.
