Was a littlle concerned at firtst, Regulator frequency was causing volt meter to fluctuate rythmically. Stabilized afted a few days and has been stable and working well for about six months now. Burn in period I hope. And yes, the battery was charged up prior to alternator installation. Satisfied customer.

2011 Chev. Suburban 5.3 literVery pleased. Alternator arrived on time, well packaged; and completely intact. Excellent price for a NEW ACDelco alternator. It is the exact replacement for the OEM original I was replacing. Follow the many videos to be found. Installation is very easy. Have patience, if installing new serpentine belt. Because it is new, and not stretched, it will be tight; but the 'ah-ha' moment will come quickly. DO, make a diagram of serp belt 'routing'. No worries then of 're-threading'. Also included is 1-800 tech help line #. My call re: torque pounds on mounting bolts, (41lbs.), was returned and answered within 15 mins.!My initial questions were, 'what is the difference between this alt. #335-1196 & OEM #25877026?'First, about a $100.00 less than OEM. Only difference, (to the best of my knowledge), is that ACDelco. #335-1196 is made in Mexico; which makes no difference to me. It is, (and very clearly marked), a NEW ACDelco alternator.I do not want any other brand in the Subbie. #25877026 , (I assume), is made in U.S. "Professional '#335-1196 is ALL NEW ACDelco parts, fits perfectly, good warranty; and charging like a mad dog. I highly recommend this alternator. Hope this is helpful.

First, The item was exactly what I was looking for, A new OEM replacement at a good price, However that is worthless if they can't get it delivered undamaged.When I received the alternator the box was damaged and taped up. When I opened it the alternator cover was cracked and the connecting stud was bent over against the case. The box it was packed in was much to light and the original packing tape obviously was not sufficient for the weight. I returned it for replacement and after waiting another week got the replacement only to find the exact same thing had happened, It looked like the bottom tape gave way and the alternator had been bounced on the ground. This experience has made me very wary of ordering anything shipped direct from Amazon.

Box was torn up......plastic rear shield was broken. Your shipping dept. needs to ensure security of the product when its shipped!! POOR, POOR product packaging! This is a 200.00 alternator, not pajamas! I have no choice but to have it installed......I NEED MY VEHICLE BACK! Might work, might not due to the condition of the packaging!

Everything is positive. All the pieces fit no issues getting it in. No problems firing up light went out like it was supposed to. I reset everything. I’m good to go.

This is the first BRAND NEW alternator I have ever purchased. I have always bought ACDelco remanufactured products. Usually ACDelco parts are made in Canada or Mexico, or so I thought. This ACDelco Professional alternator was stamped 'made in china'. It matched up to my alternator that I was replacing (front bearing is shot) and installed without a hitch. Next morning at 20*F it resonated an electrical interference howl that emulated a supercharger. Or the whine you hear on an airplane while taxi-ing. Not having it. My ears ring enough without having to listen to this nonsense. After 50 miles of mixed driving I slapped my old alternator back in and what do you know? The awful sound is gone! I am adamant about using OEM parts, there is a difference. Usually. Thank goodness Amazon accepted the return without question.
