2002 Tahoe LT 5.3 - Was reading where so many folks had issues removing the T55 Torx bolts and although I have all the right tools and then some, I didn't think the Torx would be so bad. It was unreal how difficult they were to remove but I succeeded and without stripping the heads. After the brake job, I accidentally came across these Delco 18K1014 Caliper bolts in the AC Delco on-line catalog. They are the second to last item listed under the Front Brake Hardware subgroup. Peace of mind for under $8.00 per set!I ordered three sets just to have two extra bolts. What I like is that they appear to be a high quality machined bolt that can be installed and removed without worry via an 18mm bolt head. Goodbye Torx! What I do not like is that they are clearly labeled Made in China, they have a brass type plating and not sure if they are stainless like the originals.These bolts fit perfectly right out of the package. Some here complained that the bolts are too long and my guess is that the rubber guide bushing that sits all the way inside of the Caliper is the culprit by not allowing the pin end of the Caliper bolt to slide into it properly. This would cause the bolt to appear as if it were too long because it can't seat all the way into the rubber bushing. Makes sense that Delco would provide two of these bushings in the package.

Since all four now are same head size, don't forget they both have different torque specs.

The old rubber bushings were -to my eye- completely OK -looked so close to new that by mistake I put one old one back in and when I realized that, I decided it was in such OK shape that it was not worth pulling the pin out, fishing the bushing out, and putting the new one in.I also bought a kit with the caliper pin boots. In contrast to several online videos, I had no trouble tapping those boots in with a socket. I wonder if the metal band around the base of these boots by ACDelco have a better bevel to aid in starting than the knockoff brands--a couple people reported great difficulty with getting non ACDelco boots put in.My big gripe is that it is time consuming to find out just what different kits of brake parts ACDelco offers. I wish they somehow showed the different kit configurations available from ACDelco.

Fit my 2003 duramax like a glove! Make sure you lube them up with some silicone paste! I see people recommended anti-seize for these all the time! Anti-seize contains graphite which is a very mild abrasive when it is used in applications like this. You don’t want your caliper pins being worn into every time you smash the brakes. On bigger trucks, anti-seize will cause enough wear to start a notable rattle over bumps in the road. Obviously this would be after the anti-seize worked it’s magic for quite some time.

Get rid of those torx botls (they WILL strip) and get these to replace them. Will make removal much easier next time.
