I ordered these after finding that the guide pins on both front calipers had frozen up solid. No doubt from years of use and some putz (me!) not lubricating them when they swap pads etc...The boots are solid construction. I installed them yesterday and the brakes look like new. OK, I'll not go overboard, they're boots. I was able to install them when I did the pins, they fit and provide protection. Great product.

I finally got to doing my front brakes on my 2001 Subaru Legacy GT, and figured I would replace the dust boots and the rubber gromet for the bottom caliper slider pins. Seeing the other reviews (except for one I found after the fact) I thought these would do the trick. I was wrong.First as mentioned in the other review the bottom gromets for the caliper slider pin are a bit too big, meaning that they will not go in all the way, and defeating the purpose for having them replaced in the first place....Second I did not have any luck replacing the dust boots either. The tops will seat fine on the caliper pins, but the bottoms will not tuck back inside the caliper bracket no matter what you try (screwdriver, thumb nails, etc.). I thought that I had added too much silicone grease to the pins and it was keeping it from going in all the way. Under closer inspection I found the dust boots bottom grooves to be wider on the original OEM boots then these replacements.I ended up reusing the originals as they were not damaged and were able to go back into place with ease after cleaning and re-lubing them up. I will try another brand in the future or just buy OEM and not worry about fitment issues...I thought that this would be a good brand to trust, but maybe not for such items where being exact matters.Update 05/09/2017My rotor is now "not-true" or "warped" if you want to use the more popular, but less accurate term. The bottom bushing on the caliper pin was bound up and causing the pad to wear the rotor abnormally. The two small bushings in this product were too thick because with the small bushing in place, the slider pin would not easily slide into the hole.I ended up removing the bushing from the pin on one of them until I am able to get the correct one installed. As mentioned in the other review I had to spend $35 on a caliper brake rebuild kit from Subaru parts dealer as the tiny rubber bushing that goes on the bottom pin is not sold separately...Also I used good 3M Silicone grease on the slide pins so as not to wear out or cause the rubber to expand like other brake grease does.

The 4 large bushings/boots in this product fit the caliper pins well. However, in the 2002 Subaru Forester (and other Subaru models according to Subaru forums), the bottom caliper slider pins on front left and front right have a notch at the bottom where the two small bushihgs go. The two small bushings in this product were too thick because with the small bushing in place, the slider pin would not easily slide into the hole. I had to reuse the original small bushing from the original slider pins, then the slider pins inserted easily.Unfortunately, I read in the forums that Subaru Inc. does not sell the small bushings separately; one has to buy a caliper rebuild kit to get them. So not having this aftermarket small bushing fit correctly is a pain.Again, the larger bushings (dust boots) in this kit do fit well. I'll try a different brand next time - maybe their small bushings will work.By the way, everyone recommends silicone caliper grease for these Subaru caliper pins because petroleum-based caliper grease can cause the small rubber bushings to get swollen, thus inhibiting movement of the caliper pins.
