I purchased this to use on my 1988 Johnson 100 horsepower motor, and it gives me some indication of what's going on when my motor hits the trim pistons but it starts at the very bottom of the dial works its way to the middle when it's about halfway trimmed, and then when it's all the way in it works its way back down again. So it's somewhat useful and I'll keep it, but doesn't work as intended

Looks nice. The gauge reads Up for down and Down for up on a Merc motor. Useless for me.

It works but upside down on my Alpha1 leg with Mercuiser 5.7L 350 CDI. I kind of expected that upside down operation from previous posts but if you cant get what you want you have to like what you got. Price was the compromise. I rotated the gauge 180 in the panel and the lines fit the purpose. It is great helper when I need to know where the leg is. It works the full range. So what the letters are upside down and down is up and up is down nut on the 180 rotation. The top scale after rotation is when the leg is fully up trailer mode the down scale is leg all the way down. I wish the manuf provided way to flip the direction.

Installed these gauges on a Mercruiser Alpha legs. Gauges reading up when leg is down and down when leg is up. I have checked resistance from the Mercruiser trim sender and it is reading correctly. Wiring to gauge is new. Gauge is wired as indicated by supplier. Disappointed with product performance. These products are wired to European Standard not N.A. Standard. Not indicated in ad. Wrong product info. Amazon no help!RBM
