Very happy with this little "weather station". Using it in my little teardrop camper to keep tabs on the temperature both inside and outside, as well as the humidity inside. So far it has performed very well. I like that it also reads barometric pressure and it gives you an icon with the likely weather. This is an upgrade from just a temperature gauge made by same manufacturer.My only "but" is that the screen is not really easy to read, the monochromatic screen makes it hard. The backlight makes it much better but still hard to read at an angle. The color version is likely a better choice, but for the money this is a great little piece of kit for my camping adventures. Battery life is not bad and it takes 3 AA's. As far as installation, it's your choice. It comes with a pop in base for placing it on a shelf or tabletop. You could also use the mounting holes in the back to permanently place it on a wall.

All in all, this AcuRite compact weather station is reasonably satisfying, and its indoor display monitors a plethora of data within its fairly easy to read screen. On the top row of the display, the atomic time and date display are visible, although that information is marred by its small size, especially when viewing across a room. Meanwhile, this unit does have several merits that consider it worthy of recommendation. Not only does this station have an outdoor and indoor temperature reading plus humidity, but also it records daily high/low temperature readouts, as well as barometric pressure, current moon phase display, and even a 12 hour projected forecast depicted by weather symbols. Another big plus is the really simple set-up. as well as the fact it comes with a full set of printed instructions in the package. Moreover, this AcuRite unit utilizes battery power for both its indoor monitor as well as its outdoor sensor, which makes it more portable for easier placement. Although the weather station performs decently once installed, the outdoor temperature, and especially the outside humidity, are inaccurate by several degrees and percent, respectively. One small consolation is the unit readings can be calibrated to be more accurate, if need be. In spite of this, the other data on its display seems to be more reliable. Furthermore, the outdoor sensor is a cinch to sync with the indoor monitor, and also simple to place outdoors, with a built-in upper hanger. Consequently, I do recommend this for casual weather hobbyists, like myself!

I guess there are a few different types of these the one I ordered didn't have quite the same face settings as the one I got so I called the company and they told me I did get a different version after I sent them a picture I do like it and it works great but I still would have like to get the one I looked at.

Worked perfectly right out of the box. We just had to insert batteries and hang the sensor outside and it started working. Would recommend.

"Tabletop design and attractive color display make it the perfect weather station for your desk or countertop" this is what's on the discription ... there is NO COLOR DISPLAY and that is why i ordered it so you could see it across a room... you can't see it so i will be returning it... very hard to read too small other than that i like it... very disappointed in the display when it is advertized to have a back light...
