exceeded my expectations! i previously got a cheap knitting machine from michaels, but ended up returning it because of the lack of quality. this one is its replacement, and it is AMAZING. i got the king size one and it is definitely worth the price. it works very well, doesnt skip any stitches, counts your rows for you, and is quick and easy to use. this is a great brand.

This machine is an absolutely great tool for making stockinette tubes quickly and easily! I had mixed feelings about whether or not to purchase this thing based on negative reviews I had been reading. I have to say that I am extremely impressed, and it has been worth every dollar spent. They even throw in extra needles in case any break, although I can't even think how you would break one, they're that sturdy. The circumference of a finished beanie in Caron - Simply Soft (doubled for warmth) is big enough to fit a child to medium-sized adult head with a little wiggle room. My boyfriend has a large noggin and he can squeeze into one of the hats, but it isn't very comfortable. A finished tube, laid flat and unstretched, is close to six to eight inches wide, depending on the yarn used. The most important advice I can give you is to choose the RIGHT YARN for the machine. I have used a wide variety of weights and fibers and here is what I think are the best choices:1. Worsted Weight - Caron Simply Soft. I can't say enough about how great the Addi Express works with this yarn. I've made scarves, hats, and blanket panels and they turn out great. Not a dropped or twisted stitch to be seen with more than 800 rows on the longest piece I've knit. I cast on and just crank the handle, most of the time I just watch TV and mindlessly knit, that's how dependable the combination is!2. Worsted Weight - Lion Bran Vanna's Choice. Very occasionally the machine doesn't quite catch a full stitch and splits the yarn on a needle, but it has never been a huge problem as long as I keep an eye out and have a crochet hook handy.3. Worsted Weight - SMOOTH wool yarns. If your yarn is boucle, plied loosely, or splits easily, you will not get a good fabric out of this machine. Wool blends have worked amazing for me, but I have yet to try any of my higher-end wools on it for fear of ruining them. I would stick to acrylics until you're comfortable with how the machine works.Bulky yarn will not work well at all, you'll end up with a stiff chunky fabric that is a pain to keep on the needles. I haven't experimented with smaller weight yarns either, but your fabric will obviously turn out lacier than worsted.I have no idea why, but Red Heart Super Saver absolutely kills this machine. I've tried many combinations, and I am constantly dropping stitches when using this brand, and the machine makes a terrible clicking noise. It's baby melter yarn, so I can't say I'm disappointed, I just would have loved to mindlessly crank out tubes of the stuff for charity scarves since I have a lot of it sitting around.All-in-all, I'm pleased with this purchase, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid starter machine with a relatively low cost compared to professional machines of the same size.

This machine is a bit pricey but oh it’s so good. I’ve tried the other pink machine and will never go back after using this one. This one is so smooth and easy to use. I’ve had for two years now and no issues. Such a great investment would recommend this to anyone interested in knitting

I purchased both the 22 and 46 needle addi knitting machines. I've had them for several months and I love them both. The machines are easy to use, and there are lots of YouTube videos that helped me to get to know my machines. I've made scarf sets, sweaters, blankets, and stuffed animals using my addis. The addi does well with 1-4 weight yarn. I have also used a 5 weight yarn, but it is tough on my Addis, and I have ended up with dropped stitches, the handle constantly skips and doesn't rotate to the next needle, so I've had to push it along, and it breaks needles. It is doable with a 5 weight, but it takes a lot of extra work and patience.I'm a knitter and crocheter, but it's difficult for me to do either because of arthritis. The addi machines have given me back the joy of both.I also have 22 and 48 needle Sentros, which are good. But, I am partial to, and would recommend the addi. I feel these machines are built tough and built to last.

I have had the Addi Express King Size Knitting Machine for a couple of months now and it is great! It is made of good quality materials and with proper use and care it should last me a good while. As with any of these machines, you have to learn its quirks and learn how to use it properly. I have both the small and the large Addi. I have tried several different types of yarns with it and so far my favorite 4-ply yarn to use with it is I Love This Yarn. Red Heart 4-ply acrylic yarn works quite well also. It handles 3-ply yarns very well too. I haven't tried bulky weight yarn with it. I have made some very nice items on the Addi, including hats, scarves, lap blankets, ponchos, socks, and shawls.PROS - Fast, even knitting, allows you to complete items quickly. Easy to use, even for beginners Portable, lightweight. I can move to where I need to in my house. I like the fact that it doesn't need batteries or electricity to operate itCONS - It does drop stitches from time to time, but if you watch your your tension it's not such a problem. It also tends to drop stitches on the edges when you're making a flat panel but this can be avoided also if you make sure those end stitches aren't loose. It takes practice. Over time I have dropped fewer and fewer stitches. I know a lot of folks complain about the dropped stitches, but I don't see it as a deal breaker. The row counter has its moods. Sometimes it jumps numbers, and sometimes it just decides to go back to zero for no apparent reason. I usually just keep track of my counting in my head and I don't depend solely on its accuracy. The instructions that came with the machine aren't that impressionable. You can learn much more by watching YouTube videos or just by practicing on your own.Overall, . I am very pleased with my Addi Knitting Machines. I tend to use the large Addi much more than the smaller Addi. Even though you can't make a variety of fancy patterns on it, you can knit wonderful items for yourself, your family and friends, and even for charity. I think it was well worth the money I spent for it. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the inaccuate row counter and because the instructions that come with it aren't very helpful. Trial and error is the best way to learn to use this machine.

Easy to get started using the Addi. I've tried other Sentro models and the Michaels house brand, and the Addi is in a different league altogether. The crank is super smooth, and tensioning is easy to make sure that stitches don't drop. Spend the extra to get the Addi, as it's well worth the time in not fixing dropped stitches.

4th knitting machine I have, really impressed with Addi, It is really the best machine I have, stitches more uniform, finished articles do look better. I wouldn't have bought it myself because of the price, but my husband bought it for me for Christmas.
