I love my beautiful and sturdy mailbox. I am a woman in my 60’s and am somewhat handy with simple projects. I followed the directions as written. Putting the mailbox on the bracket was a little challenging because I had to make the mailbox bottom wider with carefully wrapped pliers to fit over the bracket, but it was a minor adjustment. All hardware was included and fit well. I’m glad I followed directions and assembled the mailbox to the post before setting it in the ground. This allowed me to line up the mailbox toward the street and use a level on the mailbox and post. With help from my son-in-law, I measured the distance from the ground to the bottom of the mailbox while digging the hole. I then used quick set concrete ( about 2/3 of a 50lb sack) in the hole around the post. Before it set, a level was used and my mailbox is straight and level and looks like a professional did it. My neighbors are asking where they can get one like it. Don’t forget to put the bottom sleeve over the pole before placing in the hole. I used painters tape around the pole and secured the sleeve as high as I could temporarily. This allowed the concrete to dry and let me come back later and secure it permanently on the ground level. Hope the tips helped!

I found myself in need of a mailbox that closely resembles the mailboxes in my neighborhood after an inattentive driver took my mailbox out and broke it beyond repairs. This mailbox was very easy to assemble and took little time to put everything together. The only issue I came across during assembly was the provided screws that attach the actual mailbox to the platform attached to the post did not seem to be the appropriate length. The screws were a little too long and were unable to be screwed all the way in so that the screw head was flush with the sides of the mailbox. My screws stick out a little bit giving my mailbox the Frankenstein look. Aside from that minor detail, the mailbox looks great. The seller placed my house number on the attachment where the house numbers are displayed on top of the box in a very centered and straight manner (sometimes it's all about the small things in life). I would definitely recommend this mailbox to others should the inattentive driver strike again.

Pros:- Very elegant, if not pretentious, mailbox.- Large size: fits small packages with ease.- The brass numbers on black really pop.Cons:- Like another reviewer mentioned, I had the same issue with the bolts that run through the post to connect the mounting bracket. They were a 1/2" too short to thread into the bracket. I picked up two longer bolts from the hardware store, and painted the exposed surfaces black after installation. It wasn't a major issue, but it was a hassle and it detracted from an otherwise excellent product..

I love the mailbox. It is very pretty andiis made of good quality materials, just found it a little hard to assemble. For one thing, it requires an Allen Wrench and usually, when something I assemble requires one, it comes with the product. But in this case, I had to go to Lowes and buy a set of them because I didn't know if it needed metric ones or standard ones, nor the size required. Other than that, it wasn't that hard, but it did take two people at one point, one to hold the mailbox up so that I could screw in the screws correctly. Also, the directions just weren't really all that clear. But, I was able to figure it out, in the end. So, don't let the difficulty I am talking about dissuade you, it is not really all that hard to assemble.

Neighborhood kids took a baseball bat to my old one. This one isn’t going anywhere!

We are very pleased with and just love our new mailbox. Easy to assemble with clear instructions. Looks just like pictured. Extremely classy with the solid brass address numbers that were already affixed to the plaque upon receipt. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this seller to other neighbors in the future. In fact, we ordered the same mailbox for our next-door neighbors and they love it as well.

Sorry I purchased this mailbox. It's very attractive but for $289, it should not fall apart in the first six months. First week, the red flag fell off. The flag is held in place by a plastic button which goes through and protrudes inside the box. Postman probably hit that button shoving in gobs of junk post. Now the entire scroll bracket securing (yeah right) the box has completely shattered. It will be a high maintenance box which was not what I was looking for. But, if you don't mind the cost and frustration of constant maintenance, it's very pretty.
