I like the foam. It gives a nice clean finish to the pressed specimens. Very easy to adjust for different sizes. You can do tiny butterflies (get some 00 pins) or average to large size because you can adjust it.

Our son is taking part in a 4-H project where he must create an insect collection, but my husband and I have never created one. We started with the recommended sites for purchasing what he needed, but we decided to check out Amazon. Glad we did! We were able to find the spreading board for a much cheaper price than the other 2 places, and it does exactly what we need it to do.

The first time I used it some scales transferred to the board so I taped tracing paper to each side and drew a grid. It's now my favorite out of all my boards. I'll be buying another for sure.
