Product Description

Air Lift RideControl kits fit many popular vehicles with leaf springs including 1/2-ton and mini pickups, full-size and minivans, as well as SUVs. Both front and rear applications are available for some vehicles. RideControl adjustable air springs provide up to 2,000 lbs. of load-leveling capacity, simply inflate when carrying a heavy load from 5-100 psi and deflate to the minimum 5psi when riding light. Each kit includes everything you need to install the system including vehicle specific brackets, air springs, hardware and more. Our end caps are made of an ultra-high strength nylon composite which is as strong as steel, weighs less, and will never rust or corrode. Eliminate these common load and towing problems for good when you use Air Lift air springs: Sag – Proper weight distribution to all tires improves steering, braking and tire wear. This is especially important while towing: adjust the air springs to accept the tongue weight of the trailer or other heavy loads. Headlight aim – Only level and stable vehicles provide safe and proper headlight aiming – critical for night driving safety. Rough ride – Air Lift's progressive spring rate soaks up bumps, keeping tires on the road for better handling. Bottoming out – Air Lift springs restore normal ride height when heavily loaded or towing, reducing suspension wear and eliminating crashing on bumps. Sway and body roll – Air springs increase spring rate and vastly improve vehicle stability. When towing trailers, the air springs permit precise vehicle height adjustment for exact alignment, reducing trailer sway. Less roll and sway means a safer and more comfortable ride. Porpoising – Pickup trucks, even those that don't squat when loaded, can begin to "porpoise" vertically when towing heavy trailers. Progressive rate air springs dramatically reduce this problem for a safer, more comfortable ride. Air Lift Company warrants that the RideControl air spring system will be free from defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the vehicle of original installation. This does not include installation or other service charges for replacement. Exclusive 60 Day Ride Satisfaction Guarantee: Air Lift guarantees you'll be happy with the improvement in road comfort and load handling. If you're not satisfied, you may remove the product and return it to your dealer for a full refund of your purchase price within the first 60 days after your purchase. Air Suspension Solutions that Fit, Work and Last Air Lift Company has been developing air spring suspension products for almost 60 years.

From the Manufacturer

Air Lift adjustable air helper springs level your load, and give your truck, van, or SUV a safer, more comfortable ride. Air springs are easy to install between your existing springs and the vehicle frame. Just add air when towing or hauling a heavy load, and reduce air pressure when unloaded; they are fully adjustable for a great ride. Air Lift air springs eliminate sag, sway, and bottoming out. They are made with rugged, durable components for long, reliable service.

Air Lift RideControl kits fit many of our most popular customer vehicles with leaf springs, including ½ ton and mini pickups, full-size and mini vans, and SUVs.

Application Information
This RideControl kit, number 59537, fits the 1995 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma, 4-wheel drive, all models. This kit can be easily installed in around 2 hours.

RideControl
Many of today's most popular light-to-medium duty trucks, vans, and SUVs are built for a more comfortable, car-like ride. That's fine when the vehicle is lightly loaded. But add a trailer, or all the things people haul for work and pleasure, and the vehicle sags and the ride suffers. Fully adjustable, RideControl kits keep your truck, van, or SUV level and riding comfortably with no load, loaded, or towing on any road condition. Air adjustable from 5 to 100 PSI, Air Lift RideControl air helper springs have up to 2,000 pounds of leveling capacity, right up to the manufacturer's recommended Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Your RideControl kit also includes quick connecting, easy-to-use air fittings. All kits are engineered to be easy to install and come with Air Lift's exclusive alignment tool and a fully illustrated instruction manual.

Why Air?
Factory suspensions must compromise between ride comfort and load hauling capacity. Soft factory suspensions can't carry heavy loads, and heavy steel springs ride rough, especially when the vehicle is unloaded. Only air springs can support your heavy loads and provide a great ride. Air Lift adjustable air springs solve these common problems by allowing you to tune your suspension under all load and road conditions. Just add air when towing or hauling and then remove air for a softer ride when unloaded.

Eliminate these common load and towing problems for good when you use Air Lift air springs:

Sag – Proper weight distribution to all tires improves steering, braking and tire wear.

Suggested Accessories
For maximum convenience and leveling on-the-go, nothing beats an Air Lift on board air compressor system. Automatic or dash-mounted, it quickly adjusts your vehicle for changes in load or road conditions. Air Lift compressor systems are the most advanced in the industry and work with all brands of air springs.

Best Warranty in the Business
Air Lift Company warrants that the RideControl air spring system will be free from defects in workmanship or materials for the lifetime of the vehicle of original installation. This does not include installation or other service charges for replacement.

Exclusive 60 Day Ride Satisfaction Guarantee
Air Lift guarantees you'll be happy with the improvement in road comfort and load handling. If you're not satisfied, you may remove the product and return it to your dealer for a full refund of your purchase price within the first 60 days after your purchase.

I purchased the Air Lift springs for a '97 tacoma I purchased for hauling and towing. The stock springs were a little worn out, so the Air Lift springs are being used to not only compensate for loading, but also to bring the vehicle back to stock ride height until I replace the leaf springs for real. NOTE: The Air Lift springs are NOT for raising above stock height, but you can use them to regain it when compensating for worn springs. The installation was straightforward, I probably took 1.5 hrs in my shop with a reasonable set of tools, and a set of jackstands. The air bags work great, and allow you to really dial in the ride height. I was pulling about 1500lbs on the trailer w/ ~200lbs tongue weight, with about 700lbs in the back of the truck for 2000 miles, and with the springs pressurized to 45psi I had stock ride height and a level trailer. The truck handled great!Even unloaded, I keep the springs at around 15-20psi to regain stock ride height, the ride is much better at the correct height, and the springs feel very good.A few notes, that don't have anything to do with the quality of the product:* Get a GOOD air pressure gauge. Most of the gauges I tried had a very hard time measuring low pressures like 10-20psi, and it was very hard to balance the sides. I recommend a good quality dial gauge that can lock onto the valve, with a pressure release button. That way you can fill up the bags a little above where you want to be, then put the gauge on and slowly release pressure a bit at a time until you hit your target. They are small bags, so a little air makes a big change in pressure.* The in-cab pressure and compressor systems from Air Lift would be a very nice upgrade. I did find it a little finicky to go back and forth between the compressor and the gauge to get the two sides dialed in. No fault of the product, its just a manual process that takes a little time to get right.* I recommend using the two schrader valves as a direct replacement for your license plate bolts. Looks good, hard to see unless you are looking for it, and conveniently located. No drilling!

Installed on a 02 Tacoma with stock suspension. Install was very straightforward and instructions are pretty clear. After instal, did a quick test drive with 10 psi in the bags and everything seemed normal. Ride felt nearly as if they were not there. Then immediately went to get a load of water. Aired the bags up to 50 psi and loaded 210 gallons of water. I believe weighing around 1400 lbs. With the weight, the air pressure in the bags went up to 70 psi. The ride was very smooth and the airbags worked exactly as they are supposed to. Did not bottom out are do anything strange. I'm very happy with this. The only peice of advice I'd give to other's is to use a transfer punch when marking the holes to drill in your frame. That way, your holes will be exactly lined up with the holes on the bracket.

First bags got a hole right after warranty ended. Let's see how long this pair lastEDIT: after a weekend offroading trip I had a hole in a air bag. this was not hard offroading but trails did have deep ruts in some areas.I will never buy or recommend this product

After installing the hellwig helper springs and being far less than impressed, I looked for a better option. I knew airbags were the best choice for my needs (adjustable stiffness, ease of use, etc), so it was a matter of choosing between the firestone and air lift bags. The lower cost of the air lift sold me, and so far they have been great. My original install had the bags on both sides installed to the rear of the axle (1996 toyota tacoma) and after 2 weeks I had a blown passenger side bag. Turns out the shocks are not symmetrical on this truck, and the stanchion rubbed the inflated bag on the side where it shared space. I ordered a replacement bag and reinstalled it to the front of the axle. I routed the schraeder fittings through my license plate, and enjoy a safe, stable ride while hauling heavy loads or my job trailer, and a smooth ride when the truck is empty.Great product!

Was helping someone move with my 6x12 trailer, so I installed these bags which was very easy. After loading the trailer I increased the air from 20 psi to 40psi to level the truck and in doing so saved my truck and trailer as my hitch bent down (it’s 20 years old) and the chains were dragging and the jack plate was skipping so adding the air saved my trailer and truck. I would recommend these to anyone it’s the best insurance when towing.

The product is very helpful when loading down your truck. Out of the fleet of 6 Tacomas that have been outfitted with this part we have had 3 trucks that have had the airbag rip. It it recommended that you talk to a mechanic about the type of rear struts that are installed on the truck. We have had to replace rear struts on the trucks as the existing model of strut was rubbing on the airbag and ripped it.

I have had this for about 6 months and am very happy with it. It came highly recommended and I know why. My truck now sits with a slight downward rake (highly desirable for handling) and can be adjusted to maintain this depending on the load. It makes a big difference in the handling of the truck and weight compensation, whether the load is in the truck bed or a trailer.I bought a cheap 3 gal air compressor and pulled the motor off and modified it to be a portable air tank. I then added some more air line, several push-in fittings and a schrader valve. I now have a setup that I can charge at home and adjust (via the tanks regulator) anywhere when I am out and need additional load capacity. FYI, with the 3 gallon tank, I can easily adjust the pressure up to 60-70 PSI and then back down to 10 PSI before needing to recharge the tank.

Used this on my work truck . Blew out the Sleeves with in a week. Probably ok for a "toy truck " but didn't hold up under a load.
