Do not buy this item. Unfortunately it falls at the nasty end of cheap. There is so much friction between the plastic part fixed to the spring and the outer tube with the measuring scale that you can take 3 different measurements and get 3 different results, within a 100g range. Put another way, if I zero the pointer and pull down & release the spring it can return anywhere from +50g to -50g of your zero point. Considering I want to measure the growth weight of my corn snake which is only about 150g now (according to the reptile shop) my readings would be 150g plus or minus 33%, i.e. pointlessly inaccurate.
