I don't work on vehicles every day, but spring clamps have always been a pain. This set came with all the spring clamps I will ever need. The tool is a little flimsy, but since I don't use it daily, it will last me a lifetime. It is a ratcheting tool which makes holding on to the spring clamp so much easier. Trying to use adjustable pliers to remove or install a spring clamp has always tried my patience and I am glad I have the right tool for the job now. Wish I would have had this a long time ago.

I love/hate spring clamps. When you have the right size, are using silicone hoses and sufficient space to use the tool ,they are excellent. The biggest problem is the extremely limited size range of a specific clamp. This means most of the clamps in a kit will never be used . Worm drive silicone hose clamps are best for diy imho.

Grips clamps like there is no tomorrow. Get it if you deal with a lot of hose clamps. Even if you think your normal pliers are "good enough" this will save you so much time and frustration!

Shipped in a plastic mailer. Case was destroyed in shipping. Clamps are average. No issue with contents. Poor shipping. Amazon will send a small piece in a cardboard box but they ship these in a plastic mailer.

Whenever I have to deal with hose clamps, I let out a sigh, rummage for what sort of pliers will work, and then you know what it's like. I had to make sure I reuse that hose clamp once I get it off and change the hose because I didn't have any extras. This set solves both problems. The pliers makes it a whole lot easier to unspring and reinstall the hose clamps because it locks onto them and ratchets. With the swiveling U-shaped part, that fits over the "strap" across the larger side of the hose clamp. The other side of the pliers, the cup, cradles the smaller single-prong side of the hose clamp. Tighten it a little and it ratchets, tighten it as much as you need to slide things off, and the pliers hold onto the clamp when you put it aside or slide it up the pipe to change the hose. Then to reinstall the clamp you just position it, then use the side lever to release the ratchet. It works smoothly.Or you can change clamps and get a new one with its full strength, because this set comes with them. The're iron, which is stiffer than the copper or thin steel clamps I usually use, but the pliers give you the ability to handle them. I'm not sure I'd want to use these clamps if I had to use regular pliers with them.
