I have never used Alabama rigs but definitely wanted to give it a try since the state that I live in allows 5 hooks to be used on a rig and I'll take any advantage I can to catch as much fish as possible. The rig came in very stiff and I did not realize they all have to be pulled out at first but then realized that was the only way to use it. There were no instructions but setting up wasn't too bad since all you need to do is hook on your jig heads onto the swivels. I used my MH rod with this as the additional jig heads definitely added more weight to the rod and I wanted the security that my rod can handle that extra weight. The main head of the rig isn't terrible but it doesn't look as premium/detailed as some of the other jigs that I have used. The included soft plastics don't really have a variety to them and they're pretty cheap quality ones so I would stick with what I have myself but the umbrella rig isn't bad at all.

This product contains lead, which is neither legal nor ethical to use in the waters of my home state of Vermont. I asked Microsoft Copilot whether or not it is legal to use lead in Vermont waters. Here is the answer: “it is illegal to use lead fishing gear in Vermont waters. Vermont has regulations prohibiting the use of lead sinkers weighing one-half ounce or less. Lead is highly toxic to wildlife, particularly loons and other water birds, which can ingest lead sinkers and jigs, leading to lead poisoning and often death.â€

When I was all set to like the Alabama Rig, I read it contains lead. We all know how toxic lead can be to living creatures. Now I feel like if I lose one, it is going to cause harm to the environment. I was so excited to see the willow leaf blades that do look like a school of shad. We used to catch shad in a net at Satterwhite Point bridge in Henderson, North Carolina. In the water, the leaves look exactly like the shad moving. It is too cold for me to go out on the boat fishing, but I can't wait to try to catch one of the huge stripers in Lake Gaston! This is a good price and the rigs and jigs will hopefully land me a big fish.

I’ll start off with the soft plastics themselves are the reason for the loss of a star. They’re pretty cheap and I’m not sure I will even bother using them. However, the main reason I got this was for the rig itself and I’ll say that is definitely better quality and the hooks themselves are also nice. I planned on using my own soft baits anyway so that works for me. I would recommend this even with the cheaper soft plastics.

Nice looking complete kit of two Umbrella Rigs. All looks very nicely put together and only time will tell how well this rig will work. For now I'm giving 5 star for the product look and craftsmanship.

As far as Alabama rigs go this is probably the worst one I've got yet. The actual umbrella bars that hold your baits are not that strong, long, or solid. They're also stick straight and dont bend out very well to create the umbrella without breaking.I can't say im impressed by the quality of this rig and i definitely won't buy another from this brand
