This mat seems well-made. The colors are vibrant, the design (two big 1-bam birds on a blue background) is interesting and a bit whimsical, and the dark colors contrast well with my white tiles. The surface is a short pile; the reverse is black with a design made of rubber dots. The mat is thick enough to do its job of muffling sound, keeping the tiles from sliding, and protecting the tiles from damage. My only complaint is that the mat arrived folded into a roughly 1-foot square, with no instructions on how to remove the creases, or on the fiber content. The description on Amazon showed that the mat could be ironed and that the fiber was polyester, so I tried ironing it with the iron set for polyester; it didn't seem to make much difference. Right now the mat is lying flat on a table with two boxes of tiles set over some of the creases - I'm hoping that will help flatten them out. The creases do not seem to interfere with game play, but (especially since the mat comes with a draw-string storage bag into which the mat can be placed by rolling it up) I would prefer not to have any creases in the mat - I would have rated it a 4.5 if I could have because of this small issue.

It’s a great guality product, it’s light, and easy to use. It’s pretty. Love the color. The only thing I don’t like is it’s smaller than average but other than that’s it’s great for the money!

My mahjong group really enjoys this mat because it protects our tiles from chipping, reduces noise and gives a better surface than the card table. Well worth the money, easy to carry and perfect size.

I love the rich blue color and the thickness of this mat.Why the maker had to fold and pack it so tightly, and make nearly impossible to remove creases is beyond me. It has a 5-star possible rating, but I've been carefully steam ironing (with a protective cloth) for an hour now, and I can still see some creasing.I've only had it a week, so maybe the folds will disappear with time...crossing my fingers.

I put this on top of a card table for our Mah Jong games. At first, it took a steam iron to get it to lay flat, but now it lays flat. I like the carry case and how the tiles slide on the mat and don’t make so much noise.

I'm impressed with the quality. It's thick to the touch. It does need a lot of TLC out of the pack as it will be creased. I used an iron on the silk setting first and then turned it up to the synthetic setting using the steam option ironing the topside only, and it helped get the creases to a manageable level. The mat is thick and durable with a slide resistant dotting underneath. I'm excited to use it for card playing, dice and dominos as well as mahjong. I took a picture of my mini mahjong set set up for solitaire. Very happy with my purchase!

The mat is bigger then I pictured it. A good suprise! The carrying case fits well and has room for other stuff. Great value and would highly recommend. Bring on the Mahjong! Haha
