Seems the plastic is very brittle and fails prematurely, need customer service to contact me and provide a replacement… just purchased in July 2024

Automatic! Worked out real nice for my wife’s one man canoe, they didn’t fit her cross bars so I drilled new holes, but they came with all the great hardware to install, would buy these again mahalo

I manufactured a double kayak rack on my van and installed 4 of these.. the "U" bolts do rust as reviewed by others, and I used a screw to help keep each in place.The plastic nut spinners break, or come off and are lost...these are not major issues due to mine are adjusted to "fit" my kayaks. I took a 7000 miles road trip last summer with these. I did use rachet straps to secure my kayaks on these saddles, instead of the straps that where included.

Was excited to get this set up for picking up my new kayak, but disappointed to find when opening the box that the clamps to hold the saddles to your cross bar will not fit if your cross bar is anything over 1 1/2" wide. My cross bars are pretty standard to what I've seen and they are 2" wide. I can find nowhere in the description that indicate this measurement requirement. No time to order a replacement so I had to make a run to Cabela's for a different set of J-Bars. Returning these.

the pins that hold the 'arms' on the brackets are falling out after just few uses. The caps that cover pins also falling out. Bad quality. Unless you intend to replace pins with screws/bolts don't buy.

I have a Mazda cx-50 with a platform roof with T slots. This had all the supplies I needed and took maybe 1 min to get all 4 screwed into platform. Holds my ocean kayak perfect!

This company is very easy to deal with. I ordered the saddles and it did not fit my roof racks because I measured wrong. I was able to modify it to make it fit and avoided sending it back. The company gave me a discount and everyone was happy. By the way the saddles are great.

The pins that hold the saddles of the base are free-floating - there are no ends to secure them and they keep sliding out. I'll need to replace them all with nuts and bolts.
