First off, ignore most of the negative reviews on here. Most of them are likely from neophytes that are absolutely clueless about how to EQ this type of equipment. Or they have outrageous expectations for a $250 range monitor. This amp is fantastic and the sound quality is outstanding. I'm most impressed with the crispness of the hi-hat and cymbals, which was my biggest concern going in. For people complaining about the lack of bass, I'm scratching my head. It's an 8 inch woofer, if you want to shake the house, you'll need to buy something a lot bigger lol. However, the bass on this monitor is actually pretty exceptional, especially for its size and price point. So far I have not needed to turn up the volume more than half way because it's very loud. I turned it nearly all the way up once just to check if the sound would become distorted or muddy, and it did not. I was heavily debating on buying the Strike 12, but I was trying to keep my purchase under $300. I'm glad I went with this, It's perfect for practicing alone or with my bandmates. I believe the Strike 12 would be a little better for gigs, but this could actually get the job done as well. Especially if you're just going to run this amp through the venue PAs and use this amp as a monitor during performances. The cool thing is it has an output for that so you won't have to mic the amp through the house system.Overall, I'm am extremely pleased with this purchase. Alesis is quickly becoming the next best thing to Roland products, and far more affordable. I recently bought the Alesis Command Mesh and this monitor is the perfect companion. Alesis has managed to create great quality products at an economical price point.I could go on and on about my satisfaction, but just reviewing this product has me itching to go play my E-kit some more lol.

I got this as a gift for my girlfriend who was playing through a generic phone speaker and an aux cord or one of old guitar ams. I couldn't stand listening to it anymore it was suck poor quality. I got this amp for her mesh nitro kit. It sounds so much better. She initially thought her kit was just flat sounding. Immediately there was a quality difference. The sounded like actual drums for the first time

However, it is loud enough for my band rehearsals, 2 channels/vol controls is useful, small light portable well constructed. Sounds and just IS much better than the slightly cheaper similar brand alternative which I returned. The claimed 2k watts is sorta misleading, if that matters to anyone. I'm a 72 year old longtime guitar player w tons of gear and experience. I have my drummer's Simmons 600 set turned all the way up on the set and over half up on the speaker to arrive at our normal practice levels. We aren't super loud... pro juniors and ac15s etc and use a small pa. Some eq controls would be nice but for the price and overall performance I'm pretty happy and would recommend this speaker.

Just got this in today to pair with my alesis e-drums kit. Love it. Sounds great. Nice clean crisp sounds. And it is friggin LOUD. almost bought two of them to get stereo sound, which I definitely would if I was playing or gig with it. But I'm just using it to play around with in the house when not using the headphones. Bought the speaker and the new bee instrument cord. If you're looking for a speaker for your home studio, buy this one. Also, it has two inputs. So the wife can plug her guitar in and we can both play. Didn't know this until I got it. Extra bonus!

Okay, let's be upfront this company is a bit annoying and you literally only get the monitors... After going out and getting the cables I needed, if I had known that when I purchased them I would of also just bought them. These are like holy crap good... worth the money i spent totally buying another this time with the cables i need

Plug my alesis command mesh kit into this all the time and it’s all I need to let the homies hear and the family . But plug this thing into a professional sound system with a whole bunch of these , it’ll blow your socks off!

I’ve waited a while before posting this review because I wanted to give genuine feedback after using for a whileSo far the ease to setup was super easy and volume control works well , it’s a great sounding speaker , can be heavy in the bass if using a bass pedal on my electronic drumsMabie it’s just me but if I was using the speaker upright having the logo sideways would bother me, possibly having it movable would be a good option ? I haven’t tried mounting on a stand as I’m using on the floor but it packs a punch for its size and fits nicely under my kit for when needed !Would recommend
