A great kit universal for most carbs easy to rebuild Only thing that did not work for me was baffel seat used old one the threads did not seem same as mine but other than that all worked out great

Brought this kit to rebuild my carburetor. One week later, was having problems, so opened up the carburetor. Every single gasket was soft, enlarged, and deformed. They absorbed gasoline, blew up to half again their original size, and were not sealing. Some of the gaskets got so large they kept the float from working. Obviously, this is not the sort of product I can return after installation, so I am out the purchase price. To make matters worse, I am one week into a 4-month trip, and have a non-functional outboard at this point.

I've had much worse luck with the cheap Chinese kits for older Johnson motors, however, this kit has worked out great so far. Motor didn't run, and now runs like a top after the carb rebuild and new fuel pump (1988 Johnson 15hp). I'm sure the Sierra kits, BRP kits, and OEM kits are better, but the price was right and the overnight shipping got me on the water far quicker than waiting a week or two for the other kits at the time of purchase. One issue: the small fuel line included to replace the internal one that goea between the nozzle well and the upper carb (low speed circuit connection) was too big. Luckily, the local Ace Hardware sells tiny fuel line by the foot that fit, so it didn't cause much of an issue and cost about 65 cents to remedy. We'll see how long these gaskets last, but I've got about 10 hours of run time and a month or so on it since the rebuild, so nothing immediately becoming an issue.
