Yep, they're a bit pricey, but they are THE standard, and with good reason. These are an example of the buy once, cry once rule. There are no substitutes.Lock em in your box, these will walk away.An interesting story:A friend of mine (who is a sheet metal genius) once told me stories about when he was in the service doing emergency aircraft repairs, and how they used to send planes into rescue missions (called up for SAR while in for repair work) held together by Clecos (life or death situations, not by choice). They held. When the planes got back with the injured, they would finish riveting them together. I believe him.Get a good Cleco tool for installing/removing, and be careful not to weld em in. That's it, now get some, you won't be sorry.

Work very well and are used with special pliers for opening them up and installing/removing them. Note that these are ideal for holding two pieces of sheet metal in place (via the holes you're going to use for riveting) before you install your rivets.Note the dimensions of your rivets and holes. These are small 1/8" size, and many folks use larger rivets. So check your sizing.

I use these temporary fasteners in the garage fitting panels on my pick up truck projects. They get really tested hard when I use them at work on Navy ships holding up large heavy panels for weeks on end and up and down daily. And they hold up great

I bought these clecos for an aluminum bot that I’m redoing and they work great. When I drill out rivets they hold the panels together until I start popping new rivets in. Overall very happy with these clecos
