When I received the alternator and opened the package, a piece of the plastic on the alternator was broken off, but it didn't effect the way it works. I just think for something like that, it should be packed better so that nothing gets broken while shipping.

After delivery I opened the box and it was another box inside the Amazon box. You could see that pointy parts of the alternator were poking through this box. When I opened it, the alternator was only wrapped in very thin foam, and there were plastic bits all over the bottom of the box. Upon closer inspection the back cover was cracked and the round piece that fits around the post had shattered. I needed to get this car up and running, So I replaced these parts with those from the old alternator. It was easy to install and seems to work for now, it charged up the battery. If this lasts until next summer I'll consider it a deal.
