J Moore left an awesome review of how to get the door on. Without that review I wouldn’t have believed it to be possible to get the door on. After following their review it still look a little finessing but it definitely fit and works great. Just a slight pain to get it on. Awesome product!!

This door is awful to put on. I attempted several tries and stopped before I broke either the door or my GoPro Max. Even those reviews that say the door fits, they also noted you had try several times before the door latched. I'm not risking damaging my camera for this particular door. The designers need to go back and make this one better.

I had to look at the reviews to figure it out but the "hinge" extends upwards making it possible to get it attached to the camera. It's a bit cantankerous and there is nothing in the packaging that explains this but it will attach correctly.

As other reviewers have said, there are no instructions that explain how this door works, but once you compare it to the original and pull the hinge away from the main door (just pull up on the hinge part while holding the main door) you will see that you can fit the connector onto the bar that is on the camera that holds the original door. This is an aluminum piece, so you can bend it a little outward to give yourself more room to connect the rod to the camera, and once you get it snapped in, just bend the door back.As you can see by the photo this door fits perfectly. It is not waterproof or dust proof, so you'll need something to place around the opening if you are concerned with that.All in all I am very pleased with this product, and for the price there is nothing better currently on the market!

At first it didnt look like it fit.I had to bend the bracket on the door to get it to fit.Then after it clipped inHad to bend the door bracket back to shape for it to fit flush against the gopro

Read the reviews,this does not actually fit a GoPro Max - The "Hinge" is not compatible and will not latch into the bar on the Max.

1. It does fit you just have to finagle after much contemplation on how this part works. I realize that it is actually two parts interlocked together that are still movable. If you put your fingers on both ends of the part, you should be able to pull them apart, they won’t come apart in the natural sense of two pieces, but they will slide out.2. From there you’ll be able to have more room to put the hinge on to the rod that is located on your camera.3. on the rod go ahead and slide those pieces back together to their original form. And go ahead and close the lid.Voilá you have yourself a door !!!

This aluminum case is very sturdy and well made. The finish is beautiful and all the edges are smooth. The low key design looks really nice. The design is also well thought out - my GoPro Max fits perfectly inside the cage. The fit is snug, so the camera doesn't move at all.I've been using this cage for more than a month. The installation was quick and easy. I can easily access the battery compartment and the controls. I like that the cage has 2 integrated cold shoe adapters. They're ideally positioned. I typically use one of them to mount a DJI microphone and the other one to mount a small video light. With this cage, I really feel confident that my camera is well protected against falls and scratches.Considering its outstanding quality and performance and the reasonable price point, this Fifield GoPro Max cage is definitely a great value.

I can’t believe a product can get away with quality control that can’t catch size mis-matches…. I had to sand town the door’s sliding clip connector because it was wider than the bar it is to clip to.Once sanded down so it fit, it clicks on nice and works great…. But be prepared to alter it to make it fit if you get a bad one like me.
