I just finished a stainless railing project on my cabin deck. I wanted to meet code and space the wires at 3" apart. I found these spacers on Amazon and ordered the 1 1/2" long version. I then used a drill press to drill 1/2" holes in a 2x4 and inserted the spacers. This became my template for drilling through the logs. I was using logs off my lot and shimmed the 2x4 to the logs. This worked perfectly allowing me to exactly match the holes on both sides of the logs. I did both decks and they look great. I needed to drill a 3/16" hole and the spacers had a hole that was a little too large for my bit, but it still turned out great.

my wife’s wheelchair hand rails on the wheels spacers kept falling off and getting lost found these and inserted them in the space locktite the screws great fix

This was a wonderful spacer. The beauty of its ID was matched only by the wisdom of its OD. The material was advertised as aluminum. When I went to look at it, I'll tell you, I'm no chemist nor metallurgist, but I'm pretty confident they nailed that one too. Overall I'm really impressed. Will buy again.
