I replaced an old PTAC with this one. It fit perfectly and was very easy. I like the wall thermostat much better than having to go to the unit to set the temp. I replaced the unit by myself although I was apprehensive about dong it. I built a a temporary support at the height of the previous unit and managed to remove it easily and then, install the new unit. It was much easier than I anticipated.

The PTAC came with missing thermostat. The installer realized this after installation and now its sitting in the wall unusable.Update: Seller sent wireless remote. The AMANA tech is not up to snuff. Pairing was okay but the connection keeps dropping. So have to open the PTAC cover and reset connection.Update 2: The unit is quiet and cools well. Operating via the wireless thermostat. Unit performs to satisfaction. Changing my rating to 4 stars. They should know that wireless thermostat in not in the main unit box and sent it together rather than letting customers call them for it.

Easy to install as a replacement, with easy to set-up instructions. Cools much better than the previous unit.

Replaced an older PTAC unit with this one. Installation was a breeze because sleeve was already installed. The wireless thermostat was not in the original package and I notified the seller that evening knowing it might take a while for a response. The next morning I received an email and the thermostat had already been shipped. Now that is customer service !Unit cools our over the garage bonus room quite well. It is extremely quiet ,the old one sounded like it was about to explode.Great experience, great seller, great product, what else could you want.

We had a similar unit to this and were told we could swap out the insides with a new one. The company called us to confirm shipping details, ask any questions, made themselves available and kept in communication about all the important details. They were so nice and helpful. The unit came in perfect shape and we were able to swap them out and it works great! Highly recommend these folks!

I've bought a few of these over the years and i seem to get about 7-8 years of trouble free operation on average with typical maintenance, cleaning the coils every year and keeping the filters clean. This is the first one i've had that doesn't have a control panel on the unit itself, but instead a wireless wall-mounted thermostat. The set-up of the thermostat is easy enough and the directions in the user manual are good. The unit is noticeably quieter than the one it replaced. The thermostat mounted on the wall high enough to keep small children from tampering with the setting is a plus for me. Everything works like it should and it performs well. After two days of running, an intermittent buzzing noise started to happen. It sounded like metal parts vibrating or rubbing together. I took the unit back out of the wall sleeve and ran it to find the noise. Copper tubing was making contact with the compressor mounting bolt. I bent the tubing outward to give about 1/4" clearance. The noise went away. The line has an obvious worn spot and it would have worn through in a short time if the problem had been ignored. I recommend a quick inspection of the copper tubing before installing this unit. Four stars "overall rating" because of an over-looked quality issue that would have led to a quick failure. Four stars "noise rating" because of the buzzing sound that had to be fixed. Four stars "easy to install" rating because it had to be installed twice.

Easy enough to install and gets cold. Keep in mind it doesn’t come with a sleeve or grille. Had to get sleeve at local HVAC place during install. Used an LG sleeve and it fit fine. The wireless thermostat is awesome. Seems you are also able to install a standard thermostat if you’d like, which I might do to make it smart.
