I am so glad that I purchased this barometer from Amazon. I ordered two barometers from another website and both barometers I could not set so I couldnt use either one of them. This one came with a key to set it so made it easy. The barometer is very attractive and is pretty accurate. I wish that I would have ordered from Amazon to begin with cause I have always been satisfied with my items. Lesson learned!

Mine came packed in a molded, protective foam. I guess the delivery drivers and shippers were good to my package, because nothing was destroyed or out of order. The unit came in excellent condition. Many of the other praises about this barometer are spot on. It's a good 'estimate' barometer, not a precision instrument. My only gripe is the plastic view glass. It's a dome type, where a flat glass would work better. The result is an unwanted glare from room lights. Otherwise, this is a beautiful piece with its blue face and needles. Okay, here's my adjustment experience with this unit; It wasn't that difficult at all! I let the unit sit in my room for a full day, before adjusting it. Then went to Weather Internet Page and got the local reading, then took the enclosed tool and ever so slightly turned the brass screw, gently tapped the edge with my finger, saw the needle needed more adjustment, until I got it close to the Weather Service value. So it goes like this, adjust the screw ever so slightly, tap tap, adjust, tap tap and when you get it to the value, gently tap tap to see if the needle is completed moving. It is now set. I'm pleased at the quality and the near estimate accuracy of this unit. I believe I lucked out, mine did not get thrashed during shipping.

not great, but not junk. It seems impossible to keep it in calibration. it is off by about .5 now and I just left it alone as it does seems to swing up and down with the pressure somewhat accurately (but you must tap the glass to get it to move)and the rise or fall is the most important part. The humidistat is off by around 12-13. it constantly reads 63... indoors. The temp is pretty accurate... within a degree of actual.bottom line is it got 3 stars cause I couldn't give it 2.5. its nice looking and somewhat functional.

It’s a fine piece to look at but not accurate at all, not even close. Unless I received a dud, my barometer reads exactly the opposite of what’s going on with weather conditions. I have higher end equipment to compare it to as well as using “Barometric pressure (with my area code)” . When all is is dropping, this raises and vice versa. Maybe something was installed backwards? Don’t know. Nice to look at as my kitchen has stainless and cobalt blue lights it matches with. Other than that, no value what so ever. Even the temp is consistently off by 3 degrees. Humidity is the only thing that is accurate, at least in my case.

I wanted to give this a little bit of time before I reviewed it. But, this works perfectly. Calibrating it took just a few days using the NOAA website and since then it has worked like a charm. For a relatively inexpensive barometer, I don't think anyone could ask for more. I think a lot of people who give these barometers low reviews do so without having read the instructions first. A barometer doesn't predict the weather with 100% accuracy; it is just a tool to know what to expect. Just because the needle is pointing to the rain icon doesn't mean it is going to rain. One has to read the instrument over a period of time. That is all explained in the instructions.
