It should come shipped with a cardboard protector or in a box would help. I received it in a plastic mailing bag. I bent it back into shape and slapped it on. It looks fine and does the job. I used the screw that was in my plate holder already and not their screws and covers. No issues with the product just the mangled state I received it in. It is a very thin metal and is easy deformed and reformed...

this is a thin metal plate, if your envelope bends, it bends the plate. If something is dropped on it , you get a dimple. I straighten the bend. Can't do much for the dimple. Either box these, or handle with care and place in a safe area during shipping.
