They are glass. Full sized Christmas balls. Some are shiny like the red on in the picture and some are not. Just like the Christmas ball ornaments they used to sell when I was a kid. They do come with gold thread to hang but I bought some hooks for them instead. My tree is 6.5 ft and 3 packages of one red, one green and one silver filled up the tree nicely. Very happy with purchase.

This 10 piece set of Christmas balls are a great addition to your ornaments to adorn your Christmas tree for this year's holiday festivities. They are 2.64'' in diameter and are comprised of glass that is described as being high quality. There are two style included among the 10 pieces: shiny and mat, so you get a little bit of variety. They look like they are good quality and they likely will not form dents due to them being glass as opposed to plastic. The price to quantity ratio is just OK, so if your budget allows, I do recommend them.

I added a tree this year that displays all of my ornaments from the White House over the past 20+ years. Its beautiful, but it needed a lil somethin'. These balls were perfect to give a little pop of color without taking away from the beauty of the collectible ornaments. I would totally order them again!

The ornaments are really nice, the matte ones are great but the shiny ones are more silver than gold it seems.
