Since its first release in 2004, Angel in the Waters has been a best-selling, life-transforming children's book. It has been carried in countless hospital gift shops, pro-life centers, and Catholic book stores. In just ten years, over 130,000 copies have been sold, and that is only the beginning. The 10th Anniversary, hardcover Angel in the Waters is a simple, non-confrontational book that makes young children decidedly pro-life long before they ever hear the word "abortion." This special hardcover book tells a special story. It's the first story of every child of God: In its mother's womb, a tiny baby grows, explores the waters, and talks with the angel who is there. With gentle illustrations and wise words, author Regina Doman tells the story of that baby and the angel in the waters . . . a story that will delight all young children, because the journey from conception to birth is their story, too.

Simple, sweet journey of the person growing within! Wish the publishers would produce the hardcover version again- so the shelf life in a library would last for years and the price would be affordable again.

Beautifully illustrated by Ben Hatke (author/illustrator of "Zita the Spacegirl") and written by Regina Doman, this sweet story will be sure to win your heart and provides a sweet way to share the wonder of human life and birth with youngest of story lovers. Definitely a must have baby shower or baptism item!

We are not a religious family so I was iffy about ordering this. I'm so glad I did though, as it is a beautiful book! When I was pregnant with my son I bought a lot of different books about birth and babies and this was the one my then 3 year old daughter latched onto the most. The language is simple but not boring, and it reads with such a nice cadence. The illustrations are beautiful. And what I loved most about it is that while it talks about an "angel" there's never any religious reference to it so it was easy for me to talk about in a non-religious way with my daughter. I gifted this book to my midwife because it quickly became a favorite, and I recommend it to all my pregnant friends with older kids who are looking for good books. It's just one of the loveliest books I've ever read, and my daughter agrees!

Absolutely wonderful book! This is a unique and wonderful book for children or families that are expecting. It speaks from the perspective of the unborn child, so it is simple for little children to understand. The child while in the womb is talking to his/her angel, who is offering some guidance about this new and confusing world. Very beautiful and gentle images.I will be buying more as gifts. The poor reviews were from people who were anti religious, so if you are uncomfortable about talking to children about angel, this book is not for you.

Bought this for two of my grandchildren who are expecting a sibling soon. Very sweet story from the unborn baby's point of view. It does make me tear up when I read it. I'm thrilled to have it added to my home library.

I've purchased this book numerous times from Amazon and gifted it to pregnant women. It's a lovely book. I have another pregnant niece and looked on Amazon for the book to send to her. They jacked the price up beyond belief! I refuse to pay $25 PLUS additional shipping cost for a teeny tiny little paperback! Previous cost was around $5, which included shipping.Come on Amazon!

This book showed up on my reccomended list a couple of months ago. Hmmm, I thought--I'll chance it.Since then I've given copies to:--a 3 year old preparing for baptism--a friend in the middle of potentially bad news about her pregnancy--the teen mother of a child who died at 5 months gestation (I read it at the memorial service)--the mother of a 19 year old killed in a car crashOh, and by the way, my son, who is adopted and who was abandoned at one week old, loves it, too. I think it's helping him form/reform hid connection to his birthmother in a really healthy way.In any event--I like it. A lot. It is very simple, but can be used in very profound situations where something less whimsical would not work. It's charming, with gentle humor, and full of love.
