Nothing to dislike about the Kit--I installed it on a Vintage South Bend Finalist 1133 Fly Reel and will be using this reel on an Orvis Rocky Mountain 8 ' 9 " Graphite and an Orvis Battenkill 8 ' 6 " Bamboo Fly Rods for Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike.

This was a very economical way to get a new line on an old reel for me. There is plenty of backing line and the fly line is also working well. Be careful when selecting the size. I should have gone one size smaller because I had to take off some of the backing and actually shorten the line a bit to get it to fit on my average size reel. We'll see how this line performs over the long run but it looks and casts good now.

A. Yes the line comes unspooled. Not the 1st time I've had that. It saves a little money. Ne patient and go slow and you can get it on the reel without tangling it up.B. The backing comes with it and was also pretty straight forward to get on the reel.C. The tippet was fine. #2. I bought #7 fly line. No complaints with it.D. No loops on either end. I made a loop on the backing end with a double nail knot. Looped it through a big noose knot on the backing and it went on fine. I used a single nail knot to attach the leader. Again, it's nice to have a welded loop, but for the price you shouldn't expect one.E. Some complaints say the line is not tapered. Mine appeared to be.F. Some were concerned with getting the proper size. Mine appeared to be what I ordered.HERE'S THE DEAL. If you want this to be a rugged, every day fly line, buy something more expensive. I bought this to use as a backup, change out rig for when I want to go with a heavier rod or bigger flies and rigs. Sometimes throwing a little heavier line on a lighter rod allows me to get it "out there" easier. I'm pleased with the price point and it meets my modest needs.

This kit has all the components you need to get your fly reel ready for fishing minus your flies. I’m new to fly fishing and bought my first fly reel. I was able add the backing, fly line and leader to my fly reel.

I am new to fly fishing and this is a good kit to start off with. It was a bit confusing to me on what line went where. A small diagram would have helped. Probably perfect for the more experienced.

The fly line is spot on. No issues with it.now in my second season .no memory on the line.cast superb. Normally buy more expensive fly line at around£40-£50. This does same job and not afraid to stand on it accidentally as price is so good. Arrived at stated time.
