My 7 year old loves crafts & recently took up sewing (little pillows mostly) so I thought she'd love this. I already knew from other reviews that this was more for "designing" than for creating actual usable outfits. I bought some stick on velcro & hoped that would solve the problem, but The biggest flaw is that the little statue models are smaller than a barbie... so if you use it to create a dress, it won't fit on an actual barbie, making them almost useless. The kit itself is a good starter set. It comes with all the basics and an ample assortment of fabrics, but just be warned that it's not exactly "easy". I had to sit down & help her measure the dolls and get started. I wish it included some basic patterns or something. There are some pics in the booklet, but no explanation for how to actualize those outfits.

This comes with so much! Love the stickers and gems. The barbie sized mannequins are plastic, but nicely made. So many materials, my daughter loved it!
