This spyglass is great! To focus, fully extend all four sections - three on the shaft and one at the cap end. Then slide the one closest to your eye in and out. It looks super cool and works like a champ. High quality metal construction, and made in India. I bought it for hiking. It's sturdy and compact so it fits in my pack easily. Very happy with this purchase.

Ignore the fools who say this thing doesn't work!! They just don't know how to focus a spyglass to distance!! (You slide the parts in and out, making the length longer or shorter, and it will focus).I bought this for a pirate costume and I'm really impressed with how freaking awesome it is. For the price? AMAZING.Solid metal (brass?) - packaged with care. Arrived in perfect condition.Smelled like it came out of someone's meat-smoking lodge. Which my cats thoroughly enjoyed when I opened the package. The smell was gone within an hour.Now to create a holster for it... :)

I bought this as a gift for my husband, who will be traveling to Asia soon. He absolutely loved it! He spent several minutes with this spyglass, looking at the trees and birds in the wetlands near our home. He insisted I look through it as well and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and well the spyglass focused for me (I wear glasses). Everything had sharp detail without any edge fuzzing.We are both very, very happy with this product.

It's a bit smaller than I thought, but still amazing. I'd give it a 4.5/5 because it doesnt zoom as far as I'd like.You adjust all the parts to make it clear and zoom more.It has this old antique feel to it, which I love.It's detailed, and very sturdy looking. It also has some weight on it. It doesn't feel 'cheap' at all, which I was worried about.I like it and highly recommend to nautical/pirate lovers and collectors.

Spyglass came exactly as advertised. ..well made, hefty feeling brass and authentic looking. Took a bit of tinkering to get crystal clear focus (may have been users fault) but 10 yr old grandson figured it out and it works great.

Beautiful. Nice weight to it. I bought it for decoration/conversation piece but it is functional and works great. Just remember that you have to work it to focus as it's an old style, hand held telescope.

My 7-year-old adores this spy glass. It is surprisingly good quality. He cannot get enough of it. It is pretty heavy and it does need to be polished every now and then. He uses it to look for Bigfoot. He has not found him yet, despite his superior gear.

Item was exactly as described. Takes some getting used to but when you figure it out, it focuses perfectly. Only downside is the smell! The thing smells like it comes straight out of a whales bum, so it'll require a little cleaning to get the smell of the oil off this thing!
