Oem cable has T50 bolts which are shallow where the tool inserts - and easy to tilt the bit and ruin the splines so be careful to keep the bit straight with the bolt and forced in. They also have lock tite on them. The new bolts are 7mm allen bolts and are deeper so I used them. Whole job maybe 20 min and the new cable appears at least as strong as the old and a lot less expensive than oem. My old cable had rusted and broke from water under the plastic sheath.

Just an FYI to purchasers, you will remove the factory screws with a T50 Torx bit but this piece comes with Hex screws, which seems to be a non standard size that took some serious digging into the toolbox to find. Otherwise a fine replacement for my Honda Ridgeline

This product fit perfect and even came with replacement screws. This is a Honda weak spot and I plan on replacing it again in two years before it break.

The OEM cable uses a star socket, the replacement is hex. Like the Canada review I could not find a hex wrench that fit this size. I ended up using a star socket that worked okay. Replacement took 2 minutes on my 17 Honda Ridgeline.

Exactly what I needed and arrived within 24 hours. My 2017 tailgate cable snapped due to old age and I was able to repair it myself very quickly. The ratchet bit was different, but the hardware fit perfect.

Cable fit great. Had to use my old bolts,as new bolts were not any Size of Allen keys I had,(metric or imperial).It was an in- between size. I just used my old bolts, works great!
