I had a Tetra Whisper 100 (the biggest regular one) air pump for my 90-gallon tank, running two sponge filters. I think I probably had used the Tetra pump previously for a different tank and it worked fine. In the 90-gal though (deeper than most common tanks, it struggled to get air down to the sponge filters even when they were only halfway down to the bottom of the tank. I got this AQQA pump since it's supposed to work well even for very deep tanks. HOLY COW IT DOES! Got it on the lowest power setting and it's still way more bubbles than I've ever seen from one of my sponge filters, even with the sponge at the BOTTOM of tank. So far this thing is awesome (and essentially silent). I highly recommend it (and will edit my review if something goes wrong).

Seems very well built, does as advertised. Bonus is it does not produce much EMF emissions for those who care (I do because I don't want my kids standing next to some cheap piece of electronics that is unnecessarily emitting high EMF's). Not here to debate the merits of EMF exposure, just for those who care its a great alternative to other units. I had the Whisper models and they were way too high in emissions. Pay a bit more but the quality is worth it.

This thing is extremely quiet, it puts out virtually no noise what so ever aside from a very slight hum; which you can only hear if you place your head within a few feet of it. In fact I can hear the bubbles from the water more than the pump itself. Coming from a "commercial grade" air pump, the sound is much better. My only concern about this pump is that it may or may not be putting out the amount of air listed, but this may simply be from coming from an air pump that puts out nearly double the air. I'm not going to knock the product for my own paranoia though.

It’s pretty, and quiet. Not as strong as expected though. Each outlet pushes enough to run a small air stone. I’m using the product to run 2 sponge filters at an acceptable flow-rate.

I bought this to replace an very old Rema Air 400 dual port.Pros: Looks nice. Sturdy. Appears well built. SOMEWHAT adjustable.Cons: (1) Not as "ultra-quiet" as advertised. Perhaps quieter than a cheap, pet store pump - even when placed on a foam pad. With both ports connected and on low, still more noise than my old Rema Air 400! - one star, (2) I have mine on a timer. When the power is shut off via timer, it defaults back to the "high" setting vs. low setting that I wanted it to remain on - one star. (3) only has 3 or 4 air flow settings. I prefer a dial setting that I can adjust to my own needsSo I'm returning and putting my older Rema Air 400 back on.

Initially thought it was loud, but after plugging the air hose in you can barely hear it... like your phone set to vibrate on 1/10 power level (if that were a thing)

I replaced a Tetra pump with this pump and the difference is night and day. The AQQA is so quiet I cannot even hear it. The Tetra was loud and vibrated enough to make it irritating. This was a big improvement in sound. The air flow is good.
