I had a problem with my Dometic 311 where the ball valve broke where the square plastic meets the flush lever. I tried to get a replacement but was told Dometic doesn't make one, thus having to buy a $240 new toilet. I checked the specs on this Thetford 42059 and it was exactly the same for hooking up. This Thetford exceeded my expectations as it was super easy to install. It does come with new bolts and rubber seal for connecting to the plumbing. The water flush diffuser inside the bowl is way better than the Dometic and it allows for water to be in the bowl after the flush. The Dometic was horrible in this regard. With this Thetford, they do make a complete replacement kit if the ball valve ever breaks. I don't know why anyone would buy a Dometic 311 which doesn't have replacement parts and after seeing the superiority of the Thetford and get this! It was $50 cheaper than the Dometic.

Came well packed. Perfect fit, easy install. Only problem was that the UPS store tacked on a $5 pick up charge??? Vendor says they had nothing to do with that.

Seat that comes with it is low quality good news is any seat for standard round house toilet from lowes orHome Depot will fit i retro fitted this in a 1995 Winnebago brave also retrofitted kohler bidet seat as well had to cut cubby behind old toilet and get 1 foot water like extension do not buy a rubber rv toiletFlange ! it comes with one . Some say you can’t use pedal sitting only facing ? Maybe true with foot but this is low profile you can easily flush pedal with left hand more than within reach . Some say front if bowl didn’t get clean uneven flush ? Your supposed to fill bowl to 1 gallon for solid waste other wise a poop pyramid can happen if you don’t know what that is look that up. This model has replacement parts unlike Dometic Overall good . Would definitely recommend !

I was doing some routine maintence to my rv toilet (replacing the water inlet valve), and when i reatta hing the spring i broke the mount. I tried to expoxy it back, but the tension was too much and it failed. I couldnt buy a replacement shroud as the model was 17 years old, so due to my lack of finesse i had to buy a new toilet. I purchased an all-plastic model, but when it arrived it looked and felt to so cheap that i decided to go back to a porcelain bowl. Theyre worth the money. My toilet is mounted on a riser, so having a taller toilet was not a necessity. But this one turned out to be a reasonably priced toilet that was white (not that ugly almond color) and an easy replacement. I didn have to drill a new hole to attach the watwr line, but really this was a 5 minute job. Remove the old, install the new. Works great. The seat is slow close, ehich is a cool but unnesessary feature. The seat is pretty cheap too, and i see myself replacing it in a year or so with a round seat made for home use. The flush pedal is easy, but that how all rv toilets work. I like that its a ball closure, not a blade, so its not going to guillotine your poo and create more mess. And its easy to clean. All in all, im disappoi ted i had to buy it but happy with this model. With a little maintence im sure this will last for a long time too.

Had one for almost 12 years on my RV and rather than just replace parts I went with a new one. Easy uninstall the old and reinstall the new. Feels solid just a home toilet. Being ceramic makes it easy to keep clean.

The waste ball in our RV toilet broke. We tried to order a new base but none were available. We ordered this toilet as a replacement. It arrived sooner than expected, was packed extremely well and was in perfect condition. Installation was straightforward: most of the time was taken by prep and cleaning the area around the old one. The new toilet has some new features that are useful. We recommend this product.

Replaced a short Thetford hand flush toilet on a pedestal in my new Itasca Class A RV that must have been intended for small children only. I LOVE this large ceramic foot flush toilet that is designed for grown men like me. I only wish that all Thetford toilets had the same type of water connection, old vertical verses new horizontal outlets. After a trip to Home Depot to get a SharkBite 1/2 'X1/2" FNPT elbow (swivel) and a 1/2" hose clamp ($5.25 total), I needed to cut off the hose end and attach the elbow, then cut and elongate the hole in the pedestal to move the hose further to the rear. Then mount the toilet and attach with the two easily accessible bolts/nuts. Great answer to what Winnebago should have done in the first place! Oh, and Amazon had it on my doorstep 36 hours after ordering it with no sales tax or shipping cost. What's better than that?

Toilet came well pkg'ed. Installed in a SB camper, very little room to spare. Should be noted to have a few compatible plumbing accessories on hand that are sized for your particular unit. I replaced a Thetford plastic toilet with this unit, so the attachment was similar.

The bowl of the toilet was broken. We have returned it and another is on its way. Hopefully it’s not damaged.
