Your cart is empty. This sand has brings to mind the rich soil of the prairie plains, giving strong defining shades of tans and browns with specks of apricot throughout. 0.8 - 1.2mm in size - it has a dense composition and low fines so does not blow around in your tank. Perfect to create a featured pathway in your aquascape or as a base for a natural 'scape. As a rule of thumb, you need 1lb/gallon, so if you have a 20 gallon tank, 20lbs is enough for a 1/2in layer. If you want to build up the height of your decor or have a lower flatter aquarium, change that 1.5-2lbs/gallon

If you're looking for a natural gravel-sand, this is it. The color looks great blended with white sand or all by itself. It needed ZERO cleaning. ZERO. I've added it to mature tanks spreading it around with my hand and having no dust come into the water column. I've set up new tanks with it and again had no cloudiness while filling up the tank.I've found with this brand, the substrate doesn't usually need cleaning. That's a 5star win in my book.

If you like the color, this is a great non-reactive course sand. My use was a dedicated Neocaradina tank. I have hard water (Florida), so I don’t need a calcium rich substrate. This sand was a little lighter than I expected. Plants adapted quickly. Cycled faster than I expected. Overall pleased with this product. I saw practically no dust while setting up. (Algae was on purpose - wood was started in another tank.)

It's not a fine sand, more like very tiny pebbles. Didn't take much cleaning. But still works for what I needed.

This is a uniquely colored coarse sand. Big enough for plants to root in but small enough for sand sifters such as Geophagus cichlid species to still search the substrate for food particles. Very happy with my purchase. These guys are the name brand in aquarium sand!

Love the quality, love the color. I love that I don't have to rinse it for what feels like forever.

Perfect size granules will not compact substrate, easy for planting less loose dirt floating around; only kept plants snails and shrimp, no organic waste load.
