This is easy to install and works perfectly. Others listed here cost more but this one works fine and is well worth the money. Though the tailgate of the Maverick is fairly small and lightweight it is fairly easy to let it BANG(!) down. This keeps that from happening. Using Locktite on the bolts when installing will help keep them tight and everything secure and lined up correctly.

This is exactly as advertised. Time will tell how it holds up, but it works really well. I have a lot of my own tools and I’m glad I did. The star wrench tool provided is kind of small and did not provide enough tork to remove the cable post, therefore I had to improvise with my impact wrench. If you don’t have that tool you can use pliers on a wrench with a star bit insert. This is relatively inexpensive and well worth the price.

It technically comes with all the tools required, kind of... I couldn't get the largest bolt loose with the included T50 allen wrench, I had to find a T50 bit and break it loose with an impact. Then the bottle opener you have to remove uses a T30 or T40 bit which is not included. Installation took all of 5 minutes after getting bolts off. Brackets fit my 25 Maverick well. Only other feedback is the damper lets the tailgate fall the first few inches without dampening, and then it "catches" it and falls slowly. Not a big deal, just caught me off guard on the first open.

I bought this for a Ford Ranger. It's nice to have a soft drop on the tailgate rather than having it slam open. Why this isn't a standard feature now, I have no idea. There are many options available and I kind of randomly decided on this one. It contains everything you need including an L-shaped T50 wrench. I suppose you could remove the bolts using the L-wrench, but it's much easier and less frustrating to use a T50 socket. This installs on the driver's side of the tailgate. Entire installation took about 5 minutes. Not sure how well it will hold up in the long run (and I should probably have painted the brackets), but so far so good.

Very easy install ! I removed a tie down bracket off the tailgate that is used when materials loaded onto flat tailgate on driver side pics I don’t believe showed you that if you don’t bracket will hit strut. So far working great . Good price

this does not fit a 2021 Ford Ranger. the strut is bigger than the gap in the boot lid. the brackets do not even fit. poor copy
