Very sturdy and fits in tight spaces. I bought this set to use with a torque wrench and it's plenty strong. I even snapped a shackle bolt clean off but the crowfoot was fine.

Awesome lil tools, I played around with then and like how they just need a extension and braker bar to work like a regular ratchet. Good example, i had to use the middle one on my jeep xj for the driver shock, all I needed was an extension and braker bar and it worked like a dream.

Although I tried very hard to use it to tighten a hydraulic line, it just wouldn't clear enough to go on. hopefully in the future I can use it.

These can be a life saver when you really need them. Have not broken one yet.

I had a problem fill plug on a manual gearbox that refused to budge. The hex protrusion was 13mm and when I applied the wrench it would not budge, and when I used an extension it just rounded it off. Now what? I used a pair of locking pliers as tight as I could and all it did was scrape off more metal. Still the plug would not budge, it was stuck in some sludge, it held a grudge, and I yelled out, "FUDGE!" Sorry. I was a teacher and occasionally I channel Dr. Seuss. I knew that If I did not find something serious soon I had a lot of work ahead. I normal circumstances I would drill and use an easy-out, but there was just not enough room between the gearbox and the frame to work comfortably, safely, and effectively. I know I needed a serious tool. I found the Ares three piece set. I know that I likely needed the 1/2" size so for just a bit more than the two-piece set I opted for the three tool set.If you look at the photo you can see what was left of the bolt's hex protrusion. Yes, it use to be a 13mm hex but obviously not any more. The 1/2" drive Ares grabbed what was left of the fill plug and using an 18" long, 1/2" drive breaker bar with a swivel hear drive drive through the Ares's square-drive opening , it took a good, straining Zen pull to break the plug loose and remove it. I would have extended the breaker bar but that was all the room I had under the car.The Ares crowfoot grabs like a hungry gator, digs in and won't let go! It made me glad I got the three piece set because you never know! You can see how deeply and securely the Ares bit into the metal, but note that it did not slip. I replaced that terrible plug with a proper hex-head bolt made for the purpose.

Generally this is a well made tool and it offers potential usefulness. I say potential because many times the tight confined associated with auto repair prevent or hinder it's use. I initially bought these to deal with the inner tie rod ends on a 2002 Honda Civic only to realize they didn't fit within the area. I ended up getting a traditional crowsfoot to work. So I currently own a solution looking for a problem. I have used them a couple of time but I would not call them indespenseable as traditional crowsfoot wrenches could have been used just as effectively.

Used this to get access to hydraulic lines with poor access. Really helped out for tightening access so worth it in my case. The quality seems good and the 16 point gives you lots of range for limited access spots. Fairly thick crows foot thickness so thin access might be a problem for some spots. Recommend this tool.
