These compact 12-point style bolts are manufactured from chrome moly steel with a black oxide finish, and are rated at 170,000 psi. They are precision machined with rolled threads, for optimum thread engagement and to prevent galling, while promoting more consistent torque loading. The wide underhead flange and companion washers provide even load distribution, facilitating optimum sealing of gasket surfaces. This kit is specially designed for select Chevrolet applications (Big Block, 396-454 cid, 1.250" under head length).

The bolts are nice product they did not work for what I was needing when I pulled up online it showed it would Work from my 454. I needed a M10 x 1.50 instead of this but it is not their fault I will keep the products and use it for something else eventually

Needed small head bolts for the manifold on a Big Block Chevy because hex headed bolts did not fit in 3 or 4 of the bolt holes. These smaller bolt heads did clear all of the tight areas. There was a slight problem with one bolt hole. Apparently the manifold boss was taller than it should be because the bolt would only catch on about 3 threads. It was necessary to go and purchase a 1/4 inch longer bolt that could be tightened down strong enough to ensure a good seal. Luckily that was one of the holes that would accept a regular hex head bolt.A too tall manifold boss is not ARP's or the bolts fault, so they still get 5 stars.

While the product is good it was the first to pop up when I was looking for bolts for a small block, and if you click on more info, it scrolls you right past the rest of the description that says it's for big blocks
