I play hardcore with punk and metalcore influence, so high gain pickups are my jam. I put these in my backup guitar which might become my main after this. My main guitar is a Schecter S1-elite with Duncan designed pickups, that is known for being great stock pickups in that particular guitar. The Duncans showed 15.6k ohm resistance in the bridge so I wanted to match that in my backup guitar which is a Schecter Omen 6 Extreme. The stock pickups in the Omen sucked, and I found out why when I installed these Artec pickups, my stock bridge pickup read 4k ohm which is really bad, it must've been broken, sounded really thin. The Artec bridge pickup read 17.2k ohm which surprised me in a good way. The neck read 8 something... Anyway, the bridge is where it's at. These Artec pickups made the Omen guitar play like it should, it has tons of gain on tap, a little more than my S1-ELITE and it's very musical, pinch harmonics ring through with authority, and chugga chugs thump without being muddy. I would say these are well rounded pickups that sound great clean or screaming. I tested both these pickups out on clean doing some fingerpicking, and they didn't distort, I have a coil split on this guitar and it sounds great as single coils, though it's not my thing, I figured I'd check it for review. The neck pickup sounds great with leads and sweep picking, a nice mellow sound, however it can get muddy with chugs like neck pickups tend to do. The neck pickup is well matched to the bridge pickup also. It's worth noting I'm using the stock 500 k pots so nothing out of the ordinary here. These pickups come with their own mounting rings which is nice, but the mounting holes don't align with my stock pickup rings so I used stock on the neck pickup, but due to the height of these pickups, I used their mounting ring for the bridge which is closer to the body. These come with wiring instructions which are accurate. Green is hot, black is ground, bare is ground, and red + white are the coil taps that you short to ground to get single coil performance. These pickups sound great, look great, and the price is great. Give them a shot, you'll be glad you did.BTW, I've never used Seymour Duncan Invaders, so I can't comment on their likeness, but I can say in my 21 years of playing, these are among the best I've come across even against brand names. I like the crunch from Ceramic magnets compared to Alnico so take that as you will.

I replaced some old emg’s that I never was happy with. So figured why not give these a shot. The wire colors match SD so use their diagrams. If you’re converting from actives and your guitar doesn’t have a ground wire cutout for the bridge then you’ll need a long drill bit. That was the only tricky part of the op.I was kinda shocked. They sound great. They’re passive pickups. Isn’t like it’s rocket science. They have a fairly high output which is nice for metal. No, they don’t alter tone. Pickups aren’t a magic cure for tone. The only difference is in output. I can see why a lower output pickup would be desirable for more cleaner or edge of breakup tones. But I play high gain. The more the merrier.By working I mean I get a real clean and clear DI signal. That’s all I needed. They do the job.

I just installed this set in my Ibanez because the stock pickups were absolutely horrible . This set is without a doubt the best value and quality on Amazon !! Great definition and string clarity and HUGE output to drive your rig. The most brutal chug I've ever heard in any guitar I've ever owned and played . These are going into the studio with me tomorrow morning and I'm expecting a great mix. And this set is quiet and voiced for metal and metalcore perfectly . You do NOT need to spend $218 for a set of Seymour Duncans . I've used bargain pickups in the past with mixed results but these are killer , in your face pickups that should cost alot more money !!!

My son got these to finish building his electric guitar. According to him, it does the job. Value for the money, easy to install, good sound quality. Would buy again if needed.

I replaced an SD ‘59 with the 4 wire ceramic and cheap push pull coil splits. Nice budget dual source upgrade for my inexpensive Ibanez semi hollow.Someday someone will upgrade the pots and have a nice player.

Not Seymour Duncan exact clone p/up they did really well with this I would just go with what they can invent based on what really delivers and go from there as their own designs nice balance for cleans and high gain with not quacking out or being muddy
