It starts with a manual that only works for people who don't need it, its useless for amateurs, putting the proper settings in is possible but complicated. One everything works, it is not precise. It does have fancy lights.

This is a great gauge easy to pair with other ones to match LEDs work great at night very visible to read. Ease of installation was very nice. Everything is color-coded functionality is perfect. Seems like a good quality should last a while.

When you get it, connect the red lead to +volts, black to -volts. Hold the button (on back) in for 3 seconds, then notice the display has changed - keep holding it in as the numbers increase, until you get to the reading you want. If you go past your desired setting, stop for a couple seconds, then re-press and it will go backwards. For example, (4-strokes) #4 for 4 cylinder, #6 for 6 cylinder, etc. there are variations to fine tune, as in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc. these are all for 4 cylinders (4 strokes). It helps to make a note of a previous tach reading at idle, if you are replacing another tach. Then fine tune the new tach exactly. I used my tachs (2) on a Sea-Doo Challenger 1800, twin engine, twin cylinder, 2-stroke. I used the setting 2.1, it matches the factory tach exactly. A 2-stroke fires twice as much as a 4-stroke. The other tach goes right to 8,000 and stays there. I did all kinds of changes to it and might have caused the problem myself? I have ordered another one, so I will know soon. I hope that this helps some of you out there, as the instructions are useless! When working right, it’s a very nice unit. Jim

Read this review for proper installation. After installing hold down the mode button for 5-6 seconds. A screen will display with numbers for sensitivity settings.Hold the button down to increase the numbers, keep the motor running and watch until the tach needle slowly reaches the actual RPM. The needle will become more sensitive when reaching the optimal range.Double tap the mode button and then hold to lower the numbers if you’ve gone too high, do the same to also raise the value. Here is the con, when holding the mode button, after 5-6 seconds it will rapidly raise or lower the numbers, making it incredibly easy to overshoot the value you are trying to reach. You have to basically hold to raise and lower the numbers and let go every few seconds so it doesn’t overshoot. After reaching the best setting just let off the button and will it automatically exit setup.

Gauge looks great, back light colors look great but the gauge rpm is not accurate. Engine at800 rpm the gauge shows 200 and when you increase speed you can see the needle jumping as it increases ( not moving very smoothly)

Does not display instantly. Lags way too much for street drag applocation. Maybe mine is defective. Return started
